Wow, this is truly amazing. Security companies should be interested in this technology! I consider the ability to integrate people, cars, and moving objects, into computer models (like Google, earth) a tremendous advancement! Their are numerous applications, many of which are still for un-meet needs!

Awesome! Using this tech, you should be able to have a subject standing in a ring of cameras and track the meshing of video feeds the head movement of someone wearing some AR glasses for an awesome real time hologram effect.

One thing they don't mention is this....most cellphones have GPS chips in them (and ALL mobile phones have Assisted GPS, which uses triangulation of the antennas to locate individuals). Technically speaking, it wouldn't be very difficult to interpolate location data of every cellphone user (whether it be voluntary or though big-brother) and over-impose it on google earth giving us real-time simulations of reality. Combine that with this technology and we start getting closer to realizing the real matrix (now if we can only figure out how to plug our brain directly into the network we'll be set).

We did invent this already, years ago. And sold it to the military. We now are using it for the video surveillance industry. (oh, it is covered under a patent too...)

Although the traffic counter is pretty cool...

This looks like something that might do more harm than good. For example, what if a Dictatorship got this technology? Knowing what every citizen is doing and where they are doing it is something every Paranoid Dictator wants.

Outside of a few controlled labs, (where you can control light, angles, color, weather, etc.,)...There is no technology that recognizes a random face and cross references it with another random name from a camera 1,000 miles away...and then tracks where you go ...following you...at the same time it is trying to figure out who the rest of the 300 million people are....

An augmentation for Google Earth that aids in visualizing the life-like quality of modern civilization? Seems propitious to some, but more of a seldom quality taken by others; I'd rather see such an implementation in more promising technologies than a simple 3D mapping program; aside from my detestation I'd favor it now because Google Earth seems to be the only candidate.

The aliens, those little grey sumbitches, have had this stuff since the 1960s. They implant those RFID transducers in people when they abduct them. All google earth has to do is to get plugged into the alien network and they would have this covered.

In the mean time I am outta here. Where did I put my jet-pack.

If google plan to acquire this tech then I don't think google should do it because due to the threat of being sue. This tech can be use to do harm to others and I feel like google shouldn't take this risk.

Google Earth has become extremely popular in the Real Estate world. As a consumer you can use this tool to easily find anything around a property that could be of concern. Technology has come a long way and this feature of Google is awesome!
