Climate change is a apparently really hard for some people understand, and perhaps in hopes of helping them get there, Open Climate Data has released some fascinating and frightening new visualizations of climate data.
It’s really easy to see just how global warming and carbon emissions have spiraled out of control when the data is represented in an actual spiral.
The new figures show the change in carbon dioxide concentrations and in our global carbon budget (the term for degrees above pre-industrial carbon levels).
These are some additional models released after climate scientist Ed Hawkins designed the initial spiral model which showed 150 years of change in global temperature.
