The Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, in orbit since March of 2006, caught this incredible image of the Phoenix craft descending to the surface. Although it appears to be landing in a crater, the craft is actually 20 kilometers in front of the crater.
This marks the first time ever one spacecraft has photographed another landing on Mars.
