British photographer Steve Alexander flies on a helicopter most mornings to shoot new crop circles that have appeared in the U.K. countryside. The following is a collection of his images, some of which illustrate fractal patterns or draw inspiration from nature.
Alexander does not claim to know how the circles are made — or who's responsible, he said: "We remain open minded about the whole question of who makes them."
This photo was taken June 8, 2011, in a barley field at Kingstone Coombes in Oxfordshire, England. The circle spanned 150 feet, but Alexander said its geometry was either incorrect or incomplete.
