DIY Plastic Bottle Lamp Base

Great idea for the budding designer, though I am not sure that many would go to the trouble of reworking a plastic water bottle. I would like to know the life span and how tough the base is through day to day wear. Gee, some of the larger bottles could like great as floor lamps! I must comment, I am inspired.
