The fictional U.S.S. Enterprise has suffered a lot of wear, tear, and battle damage over the years as a starship, but the original model used in the original 1970s Star Trek wasn’t in great shape itself.

Changes attempted in the 1990s had added affects but, according to io9, those updates weren’t screen accurate.

Now for the 50th anniversary, they’ve gone back and painstakingly restored the ship to as close to the original presentation as possible.
