Data Science Is Sexy

What is the sexiest job of the 21st century? If you said “data scientist,” you’re probably an editor at Harvard Business Review and probably not anyone else. The HBR has named the emerging practice of sifting through data to find hidden, below-the-surface meaning and otherwise extrapolate underlying knowledge the “sexiest” job of the new century. But while we love Big Data here at PopSci (we dedicated a whole issue to last year), we’re going to have to argue semantics here. Data scientists are certainly in demand (you might even get away with calling it a “hot” profession), but unfortunately that’s not what “sexy” means. It’s an interesting piece, nonetheless. All the data mining in the world wouldn't keep the Houses and our Presidency from declaring illegal blanket immunities. And yes, that's on topic because of the nature of the info as weapon now, in all contexts. It's now easier to let abuses of power go, by far to impossible range, than it is to present information that makes more than one person's day. Things have already gone too far in this respect with data analysis. Data mining tends toward attack and defense more than any true exchange of high value ideas.
I just got paid $6784 working off my laptop this month. And if you think that's cool, my divorced friend has twin toddlers and made over $9k her first month. It feels so good making so much money when other people have to work for so much less. This is what I do, Red97.com
