And you can expect the Prius to get even more efficient in the future: This fall, Toyota began testing a plug-in model that can travel up to 12 miles on electricity alone before switching to gas-electric operation.

The GM EV-1 was more likely the "world's first car whose A/C is driven entirely by battery". It was a 100% electric car with A/C.
Also, the TeslaMotors Roadster has been out since early this year, and has full electric everything, including A/C.
Gotta love the Atari era display; just goes to show how far Toyota will go to save a buck.
TOYOTA IS SCAMMING THE PUBLIC BY RELEASING A CAR THAT GETS A LITTLE BIT BETTER MILAGE EVERY YEAR. TOYOTA HAS A PRIUS THAT CAN DO WELL OVER 100-200 MPG. EVEN WITH THAT SAID I WOULD WANT TO BE SEEN DRIVING SUCH A USELESS CAR FOR ME. UNLESS I CANT AFFORD ANYTHING BETTER. IM HAPPY WITH MY FAST CAR. EVEN AT $8.00 A GALLON FOR 100 OCT GAS.
