Shuttle Rocketcam NASA

Michael Interbartolo, a staffer on the Space Shuttle Program, has posted this video of a shuttle launch, with the cameras attached to the Solid Rocket Booster (SRB). Apparently this video will be an bonus feature on the upcoming DVD/Blu-ray release of Ascent: Commemorating Shuttle (which you can watch here). The big deal here is the sound--there was some assistance from Skywalker Sound, the company that provides the sound for George Lucas's movies. Watch (and listen) for the splash into the Atlantic in the video, embedded after the jump. [via Discover]

Beautiful. I love the realtime footage of it breaking through the sound barrier. Fantastic all around.

This was so awesome to watch. Had this video been 2 hours long, I would have still watched every second. Very cool!

In space, no one can hear a tree fall in the forest.

Among other things, why release these only now? Was there anything of a sensitive New World Order nature in the films, something that the "rank and file" would want to stop but that, now, the NWO considers so far advanced that the public cannot stop it?
If NASA really wanted information from these films, why mount them in such a way as that some of their lenses woulkd fog over with water droplets? Why use lenses that would suffer such total internal reflection in bright light as one did? Given the power of these launches, it seems reasonable there would be some shaking of the camera. Or, at least, the background would appear to shake.
And why didn't the shuttle shows signs of roll over, with the shuttle beneath the fuel tank, the normal attitude in such launches? And what is the sudden change in attitude of the supposedly powerless tumbling booster at about 4 minutes 55 seconds into the film?
Quite simply, the films cannot be trusted. It could be a means of inducting more gullible into the ranks of the New World Order political power base, or reinforcing gullibility among those who already trust the NWo completely.
Don't expect an actual address of these issues. The New World Order is a crriminal venture, and, as such, cannot be truthful about its machinations. NWO quislings will respond with dismissiveness, contempt, arrogance, viciousness, mockery, vulgarity.

What an awesome video! I always wanted to watch a shuttle launch from that perspective. Those are some pretty spectacular views.

@julianpinhead

WTF is your problem?! Are you off your medication? Please tell me that you're joking and being sarcastic. Cause if you're not, Popsci is getting more nutjobs signed up to post moronic comments. Please go away and let the adults post their perspective views to stories, WITH ON TOPIC DISCUSSION!

The sound certainly added new dimension to the launch. I hope there will be more footage like this released in the future.

@TruthIsMyName

If forced to choose, I would rather put up with Julian's conspiracy theory rants than your trolling.

Well, you're not forced to choose phuckwad, so please report me, so I'm able to have my account deleted. I'm tired of my head hurting from YOU TROLLS and your asinine comments!

Wow did you see the bottom of that fuel tank? It looks burned up.

Such a good video its nice to see nasa gave us the video with the sound finally
