TL;DR: Microsoft Windows 11 Pro adds BitLocker encryption, Hyper-V, Windows Sandbox, and other professional features for $7.97 (reg. $199).

Windows 11 Home handles the basics just fine, but there are some things it simply wasn’t built to do. If you want to run virtual machines, test software in an isolated environment, or encrypt your drive with BitLocker, Windows 11 Pro has the tools for it. And you can get a license with a one-time purchase. For a limited time, it’s on sale for just $7.97 (reg. $199).

Give your PC a few more tricks

One of the biggest additions is BitLocker, which encrypts your drive to help protect sensitive files if your computer is lost or stolen. After all, if your laptop goes missing, the last thing you want is someone getting easy access to your work documents, financial records, and personal files.

For developers and IT workers, Hyper-V lets you create virtual machines to run other operating systems without dedicating another computer to the job. Windows Sandbox provides a temporary, isolated environment for testing unfamiliar applications. Close the sandbox, and its contents are discarded.

There’s also support for Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) for connecting to workplace identity systems, along with Remote Desktop hosting for accessing your PC from another device.

The everyday Windows 11 experience is here, too. Snap Layouts help organize multiple windows, Windows Hello supports compatible biometric sign-ins, and DirectX 12 Ultimate brings advanced graphics capabilities to supported gaming hardware. Copilot can also help with tasks such as drafting text and answering questions, although its availability and capabilities depend on your configuration.

Check compatibility before buying. This license is intended for PCs that need a new Windows license and already meet Windows 11’s requirements, including TPM 2.0 and compatible hardware. If your Windows 10 PC can’t access the free Windows 11 upgrade through Windows Update, this license won’t solve that problem. Microsoft’s PC Health Check tool can help you verify compatibility.

The license is also non-transferable, covers one PC, and must be redeemed within 30 days of purchase. Microsoft Office isn’t included.

Normally $199, grab Microsoft Windows 11 Pro for only $7.97.
