Nintendo’s Newest Console Allows At-Home And On-The-Go Gaming
What’s NX-t for Nintendo?
Nintendo’s next console, the Nintendo NX, will be a portable gaming system with detachable controllers, according to Eurogamer.
Like its Game Boy and DS ancestors, you will be able to play the Nintendo NX as you go thanks to Nvidia’s powerful mobile Tegra processor. The NX will run on game cartridges too; possibly for nostalgia’s sake, since sources told Eurogamer that there will be no backwards compatibility with previous systems.
What’s also new here is that the NX will have a docking station that allows you to connect to your TV once you return to your home. Although its processing power does not rival Microsoft’s Xbox One or Sony’s PlayStation 4, the NX’s hybrid system makes it unique.
This gaming system is Nintendo’s modern version of the old Game Boy Advance-as-a-GameCube-controller all wrapped into one. The NX seems to be the next evolution of the Wii U controller, allowing you to take these large console games with you or play from the comfort of your couch.
The only game that has been confirmed for the NX is The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and both the game and console will be available in early 2017.
