About
Cameron Aubernon is a freelance writer who started off as an (accidental) independent fashion blogger in the early 2010s. Though she’s covered everything from fashion to technology, her main focus revolves around the automotive industry. They currently call the New River Valley of Southwest Virginia their home.
Experience
Cameron started her writing career in the early 2010s when one of her independent fashion blogger friends placed her on their curated Twitter list of “exciting fashion bloggers for NYFW A/W 2010 (New York Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2010).” They weren’t a fashion blogger at the time they saw their name on said list, so they just became one. Her journey early on took her from transcribing radio and TV ads all day to covering the fashion shows of NYFW A/W 2011 for her own blog at the time. Yet, it was the sound of V8s going down the quarter-mile over the glamorous models walking down the runway which would lead them to her main writing niche, penning reviews as well as stories about the events built around the automobile. She was also an intern at her local NPR affiliate in Louisville, Kentucky, was the editor-in-chief of a short-lived online high society publication, and served as the de facto publicist for a since-defunct communal art space. Cameron is a member of the Washington Automotive Press Association.
Education
Cameron started her undergraduate work at Wichita State University before transferring to The Evergreen State College, where she received her bachelor’s degree in liberal arts.
