All current paid Popular Science print subscribers are now entitled to also receive the Popular Science+
iPad edition as part of their subscription, at no additional cost.

In order to obtain access to the iPad edition, they need to do the following:

  1. Download the Popular Science+ app from the iTunes store, if they have not done so already.

  2. Open the app, and press the “Current Subscribers” button toward the left on the row of icons at the bottom.

  3. They will see the screen below, asking them to verify their subscription in 1 of 3 ways:

  4.

  5. Each choice leads to a screen seeking the appropriate input. The account number screen illustrates where to

find their account number; the others are self-explanatory.

  6. If their subscription is verifiable from our records, they are asked to input a “Digital Access: password to use with the e-mail address

we have on record, they can also change their e-mail address if they want.

  7. They receive a message that their subscription and Digital Access account have been verified, and are asked to sign in with their e-mail|

address and password to download their issues.

  8. Once they do this, they go to the “Issues” tab on the app, and will be able to download ALL the iPad issues Popular Science has published

since the first in April 2010.

  9. If our subscription system is unable to recognize that the person has a valid subscription, they will be notified of that fact and asked to tap

a link to the Customer Service screen to resolve and clarify their status. The Customer Service screen, shown below, will enable them to
identify their subscription status, when their subscription expired, etc., and contact a representative if the uncertainty has not been resolved.

  10. It will also allow them to pay their subscription bill if their subscription has not been paid, or to renew if their subscription has expired.

Elona is putting together a set of “Frequently Asked Questions” to answer any questions a subscriber might have about
the process, and the privileges.

It would be worthwhile, I think, to provide a link to that page in any announcement you distribute.

Elona – can you provide that link?

Let me know if you have any other questions.
