Bibliosphere at Night:  Greeen! Architects

The Bibliosphere--a sustainable structure featuring renewable energy sources, plus natural lighting and ventilation--was designed by Greeen! Architects to serve as the main attraction for the University of Duisburg-Essen. By the looks of it, I think they succeeded in their mission.

In addition to looking like a villain's den out of a sci-fi novel, the Bibliosphere will consume 50 percent less power than current German standards mandate, and will likely receive gold certification from the German Sustainable Building Council.

Mark my words: when this thing is finished, I will claw and scratch my way into a life of academia over at the University of Duisburg-Essen, where I will carefully lay out my plot to take over the world.

Once again Pop Sci has a great story with NO details.

"Featuring renewable energy sources, plus natural lighting and ventilation..."

What type of renewable resources?

Natural lighting, just by windows or do they use fiber optics to bring the natural light in?

Come on Pop Sci, I love you but lately EVERY article leaves me asking questions and wanting more information.

Are you hiring? I will do a much better job for you.

HEAR HEAR!

Seriously!!! Can this thing be adapted for planetary colonization? It's self sustaining, but uses 50% less power? MORE INFO !!!

What an idiotic headline. This is progress and all you can do is poke fun? Did you write this after watching star wars? Perhaps Popsci can have some grown-ups write articles. Can you be considered a serious source for scientific information if the subject matter is not taken seriously?
