[[ Update: 6/7/2016 3:50 AM Due to worsening weather conditions, the Solar Impulse flight to NY has been postponed. See a statement from the pilots here. Original post continues below. ]]
Sometime around midnight, a solar-powered airplane will take off for the city that never sleeps.
Solar Impulse 2, the experimental solar-powered airplane attempting a round-the-world journey to raise awareness about clean energy technologies, is scheduled to take off from Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania late tonight, headed for New York City. It will fly over the Statue of Liberty around 2 AM, and land at JFK around 4 AM.
If you live in New York, you might be able to catch a glimpse of the plane as it heads over the city. Or, you can follow along by watching a live feed of multiple cameras from inside and outside the plane here:
If you live in New York and manage to get a good picture of the plane, share it with the Solar Impulse team with #futureisclean.
