Five rad and random dog products I found this week

The end-of-week dispatch from PopSci's commerce editor. Vol. 56.

My job is to find cool stuff. Throughout the week I spend hours scouring the web for things that are useful, fun, or ridiculously cheap. Often times, these choices coalesce into a guide of like items—for example, accessories for your new Apple products, laptop accessories that will upgrade your entire life, or the best vacuums for any kind of mess. But I often stumble across some pretty awesome gear that doesn't really fit into a list. So I made a list for those. This week's theme? Stuff for your dog.

The silicon collar is 27-inches long, but can be cut down. It's waterproof and available in either black or blue. Recharge the device via a MicroUSB cable. $40.

Reversible pet sling

Traveling with your pet in a carrier is a pain in the neck, arm, and back. Whenever I'd have to lug my fairly light dog onto the subway, I'd switch his travel carrier back and forth between my arms when they got tired. If you've got a small dog—12 pounds or less—the Alfie Petoga Couture pet sling is a welcome solution to this problem. It has adjustable shoulder straps for your comfort and a 9-inch deep cotton pouch for theirs. The sling is machine-washable. $20.
