If you’re a bonafide Pokémon expert with social media and marketing skills to boot, you could skip being a gym leader and become Pokémon Go’s Global Community Manager. Niantic Labs is looking for someone who can expand on the game’s social media presence in the player community, and “being a knowledgeable ‘expert’ about the Pokémon franchise, its products, and its global community is a critical requirement for this role.”

The job entails setting up “real world player events to drive player engagement.” So far this is something that players have taken upon themselves, as they walk real streets hunting fake animals and stumble across each other unplanned.
