The impacts football players incur are being sensed and tracked in plenty of ways. Now, Force Impact Technologies has created a mouth guard to alert coaches on the sidelines when a hit lands in the danger zone.
LEDs at the front of the mouthguard change color to indicate the severity of the impact, and warn coaches and trainers when it’s time to pull the player off the field. Connected with an app via Bluetooth, Fit Guard can help monitor impacts over time and help coaches make smart decisions for players health.
Right now, the company is in talks with youth football organizations for a release at the beginning of the next season in the fall.
