For those interested in the possibilities of tablet technology, they’ve most probably been following the development of Apple’s attempts for quite some time now. But amidst the delays and lack of information, Apple’s nemesis has swung in to show what they’ve been doing behind closed doors with their take on creating a digital booklet for the consumer market.

According to Gizmodo, Microsoft has recently lifted the veil on their secret tablet. Called simply ‘Courier’, this dual-screen tablet is described as being in the “late prototype” development stage. The booklet boasts dual 7-inch multi-touch screens which can be interacted with by way of a combination of stylus and fingers. The only buttons in sight are the two at the bottom of the ‘spine’; one for each screen.

There’s a 3MP camera on the back of the booklet, which features flash and 4x zoom capabilities. The user interface is split across both screens, with the connecting hinge doubling as a ‘pocket’ to hold items you wish to move from one screen to the other. What’s more, there’s also a conceptual demonstration video that has been released, which shows off some of its extended functionality. Check it out below.
