The World’s Tallest Water Slide And Other Amazing Images From This Week

Qatar 2022

The 2022 World Cup will be held in Qatar, and this is the planned stadium. What does it remind you of? A vagina? You are definitely the only one who thinks that, weirdo.

The World’s Tallest Waterslide

This waterslide is being built in Kansas City. Ha ha. So much fun! Not scary! Only fun. Park officials won’t say how tall it is, but apparently could break some records. Hopefully only records.

“Auto Aerobics”

For a series called “Auto Aerobics,” illustrator Chris Labrooy makes surreal images of classic cars knotted together.

Squid Tattoo

Have you seen that insane composite photo of that squid-monster? Somebody got a tattoo of that. (There’s an ink-related pun here somewhere.)

Beautiful GPS Data

These colorful loops show the path of a GPS-tracked crop-duster as it soars over farmland. (Or are they chemtrails???)

Igloo Pods

Looking for an igloo that’s a little more mobile? Perhaps you might consider these pod things, which are essentially tiny arctic homes with skis.

Machine Bugs

Not only are French artist Edouard Martinet’s mechanical insects made from metal, they’re all made from former parts of machines, like typewriters. And they’re all breath-taking.

Multi-Exposure Shots

Reinhold Adscheid is an astrophysicist, and here he takes appropriately spacey shots by stitching together several exposures. You can see more here.

Belly Button Cheese

Christina Agapakis and Sissel Tolaas made the weirdest cheeses possible by harvesting gross-out stuff like tears from celebrities, then turning it into cheese. Here is Michael Pollan’s belly button cheese, which, the legend says, eating will cause you to never hunger again.
