An unblinking mechanical eye surveys the edge of the world, watching the line where human hubris falls to nature’s wrath. After El Niño storms tore the edge off Pacifica, California, photojournalist Dave Kent took his drone to where the apartments meet water, and captured a series of breathtaking displays, straight out of a disaster movie or apocalypse parable.
