Blinkybug Book

I published a small item in Popular Science back in 2006 on Ken Murphy’s strange little project, Blinkybugs. They were a simple and brilliant little build. Built around a flat battery, their antenna move ever so slightly from a breeze or vibrations and light-up LED eyes. People still comment on the two I’ve got sitting in my cube.

That’s why it’s so satisfying to see how far Ken’s taken the creation. This month he released a new kit/book combo available on Amazon. It’s got everything you need to create three Blinkybugs, and cool comic-style instructions that also explain basics about electricity and why the Bugs work. It’s a perfect gift for an aspiring young Maker.
