Kids today! Yes, every adult in every generation in recorded human history has uttered some variation of that phrase, usually in bewilderment or exasperation. But really, doesn’t it seem like today’s youth is the most removed from all preceding generations so far, what with their hoverboard packs and emoji and face-morphing social media filters? (You could argue these are just modern versions of walking, hieroglyphics, and face paint — but stay with me here!)
Now one concerned father has recently taken it upon himself to educate his child in the ways of the world using newfangled technology she’ll understand. Check out the video above of a supposed dad creating a tactile virtual reality downhill biking experience for his daughter by hooking her up to a VR headset, showing a first-person video of a particularly bumpy bike ride, and rattling her around in what appears to be a stroller in time with the video she’s watching. If this is what the future looks like, it’s pretty darn cute, and I for one am fully onboard.
If you have a VR headset and want to try the course for yourself, the video can be found here.
