A new 360-degree trailer for the Chernobyl VR project shows what the abandoned town looks like 30 years after disaster struck.

Today marks three decades since disaster made part of then-Soviet Ukraine uninhabitable when a nuclear power plant went into full meltdown. Ever since, people have wondered what it looks like in the irradiated wasteland. They got a glimpse two years ago when an American took a drone into the wasteland.

The Chernobyl VR Project is a 360-degree video experience painstakingly recorded in the fallout zone over the last few years. It’s designed to give viewers an immersive experience of the area around the Chernobyl site, including the nearby ghost town of Pripyat.

The full project is supposed to be released in June 2016.
