"Toe the line"? I think you should reconsider your attitude toward players of this game, visitors to the web site, and customers of PopSci. All I have done is post opinions on a website forum. Your reaction is a bit extreme.

I said I don't think things are going to change because I believe they won't. I would be quite happy if I were wrong. As I have posted before, I expected much more from a website run by PopSci. This site is a tremendous dissapointment. I am happy you have made minor adjustments but the jury is out. You aren't going to bully me into not expressing my opinion in a reasonable manner. Thanks Milkweed. I plan on continuing to post as I have. She can bounce me if she wishes for my views. But it resembles an empty threat. She should concentrate on trying to prove me wrong about the prospects for this site. Erin go Brách. Boru go Brách. Sláinte chugat.

I do not know how much you have looked around this site. But if you have sampled the previous forums I think you will find the sense of community that you hope to create was much further developed there. I think it was because that forum software was much more user friendly. I also think PopSci threw buckets of ice water on this community by incompetently running this game and website for 18 months. It did so while many players held on to hope that the site would improve while it steadily deteriorated. I don't think any players drove the administrators into not doing their jobs. I think a poorly admintrated website drove players away. Finally, I think it would be useful to stop calling this a predictions "market". It is a predictions "game" which only superficially resembles a market. By labeling this game a "market" PopSci is doing a great educational disservice to the younger players who may think they are engaged in a "market" when they are simply playing a game. It would be educational for all players if you would explain to them how the market-maker function in the software is replacing actually buying and selling and the distortions that this causes in the pricing. That would be educational and would notaffect the outcomes of this game. I know how it works but many players are in denial and actually believe shares change hands. I hope you are succesful in fixing this game. Do not take it personally but I doubt PopSci is really behind you in the effort. It is clear PopSci is not/was not interested in real predictions market and that is the basic flaw in this venture. You can put lipstick on a pig but it is still apig. (To borrow a metaphor from the politicians. I think the false pretense here has greatly contributed to the disappointment of the players even if the players are not conscious of it. Good Luck.

Dilbert: This website is a devious construct to measure how much incompetence users will tolerate. The way to enjoy the website is to never attempt to log on.

You guys are such suckers, nice ones, but suckers nonetheless. This site is not going to get any better than it is now. PopSci has clearly demonstrated it is not interested in creating a predictions market. This is all about revenue.
