Touché. I don't care WHAT Taylor says about you Stuart, you are a funny guy.
I agree with the majority of your points, mg. On too many occasions, PopSci has shown us how NOT to run programs or handle situations. BUT, it has still been a fun game, and there's no need for any of us to act like loud, obnoxious, deadbeat New York sports fans. I say, keep the positivity going while ENJOYING the negativity!
Congrats mg., you've handled the shutting down of this game with about as little class as possible. Nice.
Arkadi, I'd imagine they will give you the specifics you want fairly soon, assuming that PopSci would like keep the goodwill of the players so that we will carry on with their future games. I'm not assuming too much, am I.........? Fisher, I highly doubt that's part of the program capabilities. Otherwise, they would have done that to pay out some of the previous stocks that were mired in controversy.
If they're ending the game, and the props don't have a reason to pay out, they will just leave them as is. They end where they end. In what fair way could you pay out stocks that haven't been resolved? Also, why chase good money after bad, or use man hours at your company on a project that you are discontinuing? To make it simpler: 1. Yes
I know it's been a struggle at times, but I wanted to thank y'all at PopSci for this FREE game. It's been a fun timewaster. Oh, and if you could trade my ranking with jodeman, I would appreciate it. Thanks! chefboiaarni
Okay, I clicked on your W.H.O. link, and they list the U.S. has having just over 400 cases. Does the W.H.O. have a separate way of counting infected patients than the CDC, or is the CDC getting false positives? And if they are false positives, why did the first swine flu prop pay out?
Ummmmm..... Didn't the last swine flu prop pay off because we passed 500 U.S. cases? Maybe you have some other number in mind and typed in "500" by mistake. As of 11AM today, the CDC has the U.S. total at 642.
I also agree that the number is too small and/or the time frame is too long to make this prop a gamble. It seems like an easy long as currently stated. As to the moral dilemma, I suggest that those with objections not bet on this prop. And I don't mean that in a sarcastic manner. You should tell Taylor and co. that this prop bothers you and then not touch it with a 10 foot pole. I personally do not object to it, but I understand why some people would.
Vulgarian is right. If you could list some properties that you'd like the planet to have, that would be much better for prop gambling.
