    Inauguration Day From Space

By Posted on 3.4.2009 34 Comments

As promised, here are stunningly clear satellite images of the tops of some two million heads during today’s inauguration. These images were snapped at 11:19am today by GeoEye-1, the most powerful commercial imaging satellite in the sky, from 423 miles above the trampled grass on the National Mall.

The time of the shot would have been around 11.00am. Yep the shadow is good souce. The Washington Memorial a the Capitol Hill are in East-West Direction. Also thats not a sattelite in the top left corner, but a boat parking. Control Anything With Your Cell Phone

By Abby Seiff Posted on 1.10.2009 5 Comments

A universal remote control is only good if it is really, truly universal: something few companies have managed to do thus far. Unify4Life has. Its AVShadow, which launched today for $100, turns a Blackberry into a remote capable of controlling virtually every component of your home entertainment system. TiVos, Blu-Ray players, iPods and VCRs can be launched with a click. Place the minute, Bluetooth-equipped AVShadow next to your entertainment center, download the app and you're done.

I always thought of this, if anyone can invent something like this. Finally its here. But now my mobile has lots of stuff to do, I guess it would suck up all my juice pretty quick. And then I am still stuck with my old remote. Gp

Given the time for all 6 sodas would take 6-10 mins. Close to the same time better way is put all the soda cans in container under cold water (just cold running tap water) + some ice and few table spoons of salt. Almost free of cost, and saves your Air Can, Container, Tape and Gloves. Gp

    A Panic Room for Miners

By Stuart Fox Posted on 1.15.2009 4 Comments

A team of coal miners is working hundreds of feet underground when an explosion rocks the tunnel. They scramble for an exit, but those are all blocked. The air fills with dust and gas. There's no escape ... so the survivors inflate a portable panic room, complete with an oxygen supply and air filters, and wait for help. At least that's how Jim Reuther, a senior research scientist at the R&D giant Battelle, hopes the situation pans out.

That's so stupid to remove the human element. Remove the human element from work and the Human element with remove other human elements who have no work to do. The design would be a big hit if the dimensions are flexible as there are more mining accidents in rest of the world than in US. Gp
