After hearing about preparations for the 40th anniversary of the moon landing at Kennedy Space Center last year, British engineer Iain Sharp decided to develop a tribute of his own. His offering, a remake of the 1979 Atari game Lunar Lander, in which players try to settle a module onto the moon’s surface, is a complex mix of scrapped PCs, fishing line, inkjet printer motors and miniature space vehicles.
this is so cool the design is so creative i wish i had one of these
King of NERDS well they told me nothing thats cool bet I dont know any thing
The Samsung W7900, aka the Show, certainly lives up to its name. In fact, if it had just the gorgeous 3.2-inch OLED screen, the digital TV tuner or the five-megapixel camera, it would be a winner. But the Show combines all those features with the (current) Holy Grail of handhelds -- a digital projector that displays sharp, bright images up to 50 inches. Our friends at Texas Instruments, which makes the DLP projector inside the Show, let us snag the phone for a quick hands-on.
King of NERDS - thats great but in america it's useless unless you just want a tiny projector but you can just but a handheld one from america and the heck with the Iphone when I could have one of these.
Every Friday night, about 10 regulars gather at my place in Perth, Australia, to play Texas Hold 'Em. I'm the co-founder of a technology-services company, L7 Solutions. I'm also a chronic tinkerer and a poker lover.Last fall I decided to up the ante, so to speak, and started planning a table that could generate a video display showing what cards each player has, how much they bet, and their chances of winning the hand. It makes our humble games look just like the tournaments you see on TV.
King of NERDS - I was also disappointed that the didn't tell me any more I was hoping for a video to tell me how he made it or a 3-D picture of it but other then that I was very impressed with all the other cool things this table had to offer. (but I still Would like a vid)
You never know when the level of festiveness in your home might suddenly become critically, even dangerously low. Thankfully, one vigilant soul has put such concerns to rest by creating the Emergency Party Button, a DIY system that with one press transforms a seemingly ordinary apartment into something resembling Rick Jamess rumpus room.
King of NERDS - at is sweet gosh as soon as I get $600 and some spare time I know what I'm buying only thing I bet I could do it for cheaper seeing that I would only do it in one of my small rooms (one light no blinds to close) I'm sure I could take off $100 at least
Martin Montesano had been captivated since childhood by enormous walking machines like the ones in The Empire Strikes Back. A few real-life versions have been built before, but they never lived up to his vision. He wanted his to be huge.
King of NERDS - first of all I'm thinking this thing must cost a lot to maintain insurance, repair, GAS........ not to mention that you already spent $50000 on it and 3 years of you time oh and the future time making repairs. What I'd like to know is if this would even be street legal ? I think that It would have to have a speed higher than 5 mph to do anything. On the other hand it is a cool thing to have, (if you can afford it), so try to think of a cheeper one and then you can wow me!
There are model helicopters, and then there are military unmanned aerial vehicles. The Draganflyer X6 is the first hovering craft that fits right in between. This small helicopter, the first to use six horizontal blades for a stable hover and speedy turns, is designed to supply aerial video to everyone from police to hobbyists. The pilot guides it by handheld controller while wearing video glasses that allow him to see what the chopper sees through a camera attached to a vibration-free mount on the vehicle’s belly.
King of NERDS so true WJM I mean I don't know many people who go and check there windows to make sure that a sex offender is looking in bet this would just make there jobs easy but other then that I wonder how it flys if you have ever had one of those small helicopters there hard to fly my first I crashed (broke) on top of a 2 story school but I wasn't to upset since it was only $15 but I would have been very mad if it had been $15000, but other then all of those it look like a cool toy (not that I can afford one)
An iron crowbar costs about $8; one made of titanium, $80. Solid-titanium scissors start at $700, and don't even ask about the titanium socket wrench. Titanium must be a rare and precious substance, right? Actually, as raw ore, titanium is 100 times as abundant as copper. Nearly all white paint is white because of the titanium dioxide found in the ore. Something like four million tons a year go into paint, sunscreen, toothpaste, even paper.
cool sci guy well it looks cool but the question is weather it is worth it, I'd like to see it done in a big pot then I might be more impressed (not to say that I'm not pretty impressed already)
