Army Mechanic's Garage Tinkering Yields 18-Foot Mecha Exoskeleton

By Posted on 6.8.2009 60 Comments

Carlos Owens had handled all kinds of machines as an army mechanic, but he always dreamed of using those skills for one project: his own "mecha,” a giant metal robot that could mirror the movements of its human pilot.

Wasilla, Alaska? This has to be Sarah Palin's new running mate. This machine will run the RNC while the squabling Republican nitwits try to figure out who's in charge!

A new crime-fighting technique could make avoiding capture more difficult for even the most fiendish gunsels.

Mythbusters are a bunch of unscientific juvenile clowns. Shooting at ballistic gelatin is crap! I don't shoot 950fps ball ammo, I use hot loads. I also load some of my hollowpoints with potassium cyanide. a hit anywhere is fatal! I speak from experience. Laos 1962 - Afghanistan 1986. Lots of Soviet Russians found out the hard way.

    2011 Chevy Volt Unveiled

By Posted on 9.16.2008 33 Comments

Today, after a nearly two-year tease, General Motors unveiled the final design for the car that it hopes will save the company: the 2011 Chevrolet Volt, the world's first production plug-in hybrid. The Volt is designed to drive 40 miles on a single charge of its giant lithium-ion battery; after that, an onboard 1.4-liter four-cylinder flex-fuel engine kicks in to power the electric motors that drive the car. GM will most likely make 10,000 of the cars in the first year of production; it's expected to go on sale in November 2010.

PPS Your best bet is a Colt style .45 cal auto pistol. All the replacement parts can be bought over the counter for a few bucks, no questions asked. I prefer the .45; as a hit anywhere on the body or extremities usually stops the confrontation immediately!

PS. Always use frangible ammo (no ballistics) and a .45 Automatic of some type. Polish breech face, feed ramp, and chamber to eliminate tool marks left from production. If for some reason you can't hang around to pick up the brass, you can change out extractor, ejector, firing pin, and barrel in less than 5 minutes when you are away from the area. Dispose of old parts properly, eg. somewhere else from where you are. YOU HAVE A NEW GUN! no marks to identify if weapon should be seized by law enforcement. Basic agency tradecraft!
