So it looks like it's not all gloom and doom after all. A few recent studies have managed to find the slim silver lining of climate change. Below, a look at the three small positive outcomes of global warming.
The increasing temperature trend ended in 1999, and the earth has actually cooled over the past several years. Solar output maximums explain this warming trend, not CO2 concentrations, which have increased over this period. Polar bear populations have been increasing over the past 30 years. While some northern glaciers have shrunk, sea ice around Antarctica has actually grown over the past decade. Even the northern ice pack grew this past winter. We have had no serious hurricanes the past three years. Warming has historically been a good thing for all life on Earth, including humans. Global Warming hysteria is a quasi-religious movement that has filled the void in a post-Christian left. It's reliance on junk science will be its down fall.
You don't need to worry about guilt if you refuse to join the global warming cult. We should all worry about real pollutants, not a gas essential to life, a gas we exhale with every breath. Do not accept the orginal sin of the church of envirolunacy. Wake up people, look out the window - the sky is not falling. Humans do not affect the climate in any appreciable way. Despite global CO2 emmissions increasing over this decade, mean global temperatures have decreased since 1999. Stop buying into a non-existent problem.
As the earth warms and our hunger for oil and other natural resources grows, the Arctic—once a peaceful repose for Santa—is already a crisscross of territorial claims that could get even more complicated in coming years according to a new map drawn up by researchers at Durham University, who say it is the only geographically accurate map of its kind.
Oil does not cause global warming, the sun does. Just because you read some moonbat website account of Evil Dick Cheney shredding documents does not mean governments are ignoring the issue (or even that anthropogenic global warming actually exisits). On the contrary, governments are exploiting the issue in order to exert more control of economic activities. The point of the article is that there is oil under the North Pole and that this will have to be divvied up, either by agreement or by war.
