    The Zero-Emissions One-Wheeled Motorcycle

Uno Cost to Develop: $45,000 Time: 2 years Prototype | | | | | Product Just before his plane dipped into the clouds above Beijing International Airport two years ago, Ben Gulak caught the last clear view of the sun that he would see for two weeks. On the ground, the 17-year-old, who was on a family trip to China, quickly spotted a source for much of the thick haze hanging over the city: smog-spewing motorbikes. Thousands of them, everywhere. “Right then,” he says, “I decided that I wanted to create an alternative mode of transportation, something clean and compact.”

This is the kind of thinking we need to resolve energy and traffic issues.

    5 Things: Finding People Online

By Posted on 6.2.2008 1 Comments

By now, even your toddler knows where and how to locate just about anything on the Web. But unless your friends are all dialed in to the same social network, a white-pages-style directory for finding actual people is often harder to come by. These five services aim to change that.

Good article and topic. I browsed all of the sites you mention in your article. Here's what I found. Ex.Plode.Us -- is a little confusing. I was only really able to search flickr with any success. I think this site needs some work to really help us find people/ Wink.com -- not a bad site, the only real disappointing thing about Wink is that most of it's "people search" tools are not free like it claims. You basically get teaser information and then they try to sell you back ground search date for $50. You can get more free information by people searching on google, linkedin, or zabasearch. yoname.com -- simple, free, and searches the most social networks of the sites listed here. It is sometimes slow, but other times very fast. It was, however, the most acurate with the people I searched. Also, useful is that you can search by email address. birthdatabase.com -- good concept, but does not work that well. I could find anyone that wasn't famous. rootsweb.com -- this site is very similar to wink in that it gives you teaser information and then charges you for it. At least here you get a 14 day free trial. Over all these sites are very helpful. to bad they are not all free.
