    DARPA Turns 50

By Posted on 4.23.2008 2 Comments

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, or DARPA, celebrated its golden anniversary last night in typically low-key style with a banquet here at the Washington Hilton. The 1,600 tuxedoed attendees included nine former DARPA directors, program managers past and present, and scientists and engineers from DARPA's contractors in the private sector and academia.

Starwalker: Oh yeah I totaly agree. I mean anything connected to the military is obviously bad! The internet hasn't helped mankind at all. Neither has GPS or any other developement to come from DARPA. Give me a break! Why don't you go smoke a peace pipe or something. You and all your liberal friends think anything short of a direct deposite to peoples' bank accounts is unacceptable. I'd be willing to bet the advancements to come out of DARPA have done more for individual persons than "90.00 - 100.00" could ever do. I believe someone you might be familiar with said something to the effect of "ask not what your country can do for you -- ask what you can do for your country." In other words....don't rely on the government for eveything. Have some personal responsibility! - FREEDOM ISN'T FREE
