    We Have a Winner

By Posted on 8.6.2008 2 Comments

Last December, we launched the PopSci.com/Bug Labs Build-a-BUG Challenge. Users were tasked with building their ultimate BUG based off the BUGbase and BUGmodules—an open, modular consumer-electronics hardware and Web-services platform that you can use like Legos to build practically any gadget you can dream up. The second-prize contest called for future module ideas. Bug Labs has more than 80 upcoming BUGmodules spec’d and in the pipeline, but that didn't stop you from sending in a slew of wholly unique and innovative ideas. So without further ado (and in no particular order), below are our contest winners Congratulations to them and to all who entered, and keep an eye out for future PopSci contests.

Aren't these all just people asking the creators to make more things, rather than making cool gadgets out of the parts already created?

    Extreme Engineering

The Lions Gate Bridge carries some 70,000 cars almost a mile across the entrance to Vancouver’s harbor every day. In a city polishing itself up for the 2010 Winter Olympics, the bridge is prime postcard fodder.

Great inspirational article for people like me, who love to play pranks and think outside the box. I mean, what's life without the thrill of doing adding fun? We, the next generation, must take back our world!!! Hint: try buying 100 gift cards, and filling each one with 1 cent. Then use couple pounds of plastic that you just got for $1 and make something useful!
