Smart missles have rendered all Navy craft obsolete. A fleet of ten thousand cruise controls can take out every ship bigger than 200 feet afloat in the world today.

China knows this which is why you will never see our Aircraft carriers try to engage China in a fight over Taiwan.

China could easily sink everyone of our carrier groups in a war quickly and faster than you can say 'Pearl Harbor'.

The only valid Navy vessel is our Trident subs.

The USS Recruit is now at the former Recruit Training Center in San Diego California. However Naval Training Center San Diego still exists and is just down the road.

Interesting & informative article but PopSci needs a better proof reader.

I wouldn't totally discount battleships however. We never know when another possible future war might require battleships with 21st century technology.
