Ever find yourself desperately needing an animated GIF of a rock hyrax? Of course you have, you're human and this is the internet and rock hyraxes are peculiar and fascinating animals. Previously you'd have to enter "rock hyrax gif" into Google, which is awkward, and hope a GIF shows up and that you can find it without having to click through too many non-GIF posts. But not anymore! Google just announced that you can now filter image searches to only find "animated" images. Do your search, then click "search tools" under the search box, then "animated" under the "file type" menu. And please past links to rock hyrax GIFs in the comments. [via Google Plus]

Been there, done that, utilize this often for icons on POPSCI.
I have hundreds in my inventory of animated icons. And yes I save old icons from PoPSCi. I thought of using a robot icon on occasion, but I thought POPSCI might spaz out, lol.
This IS new to some of us, Anyicon.
nkfro,
Well here is a helpful free program.
Down load a free program from cnet.com called
"Format Factory".
With this program you can take a video, edit it
and change it to a animated gif.
Other helpful free programs,
"Freemake Video Converter" and
"Freemake Video Downloader".
Have FUN! ;)
Thanks, Anyicon.
nkfro,
Just to let you know, as you make a animated gif, you must set the size too 75x75 or less. If the animated gif is long in video, the file will be big, possibly rejected or just too long to load. Some animated gifs with PoPSCi work and some do not. You have to toy with this.
Great info. I will be using it in the near future. Thanks
