Our five-round bracket is done, and the people have spoken. The most important invention of the last 25 years?
The Human Genome Project!
The HGP defeated Wi-Fi, the International Space Station, Viagra, and even seedless watermelons to take the title. Congratulations, Human Genome Project.
While it is important, I fail to see the HGP as an invention. A scientific pursuit definitely, but an invention?
Actually, I totally agree with this decision. Just look at all the ones it was competing with. The only thing that comes close to the runner up is the ISS. And between these two, I would choose the one that has contributed to the many of the cures to the ills that face our body.
I think the HGP would still have ended up the winner, which I agree should be the overall winner, but there's no way that the iPhone was a more important invention that the digital camera system. I mean, honestly, how much would you love your iPhone if it didn't have a camera?
i can't believe iphone made it that far, long live the startac!
Haha, good point!
