Handed an assignment to design a water bottle for the human race if it were on the brink of extinction, Japanese design studio Takram instead did something else: planned a set of robotic “organs” that could keep people alive on 32 milliliters of water a day.

Called the Hydrolemic System, the design would use a set of gadgets to keep the body from losing so much water during normal use. A neck collar, for example, would slow perspiration down, while nasal cavity inserts would keep in water normally lost through exhalation. Custom pieces of candy would provide your daily 32 milliliters, as well as nutrients for your post-apocalyptic activities.
