Science Channel´s new reality TV show pits survivalist Les Stroud against some of the world´s harshest environs.

Survivorman
Starts September 16 on the Science Channel

Those guys who eat rotten food to win a million bucks on Fear Factor or Survivor? The Science Channel’s new reality series Survivorman will put them all to shame. In each episode, Les Stroud—a nature enthusiast and filmmaker who once spent a year in a forest with naught but a stone ax and his survival skills—attempts to make it through a week in various harsh environments. He must do it all, including filming, by himself. Stroud’s success demonstrates how useful it can be to know something about, for example, high-school biology: In one episode, he captures a turtle using a trap made from frog intestines. Tasty!
