DNA doesn't act strangely around nano particles... come on, its just molecules interacting with other molecules' atomic and electromagnetic properties. Saying molecules act strangely together is just a way of saying we don't know much about atomic forces, and how atoms and molecules interact with each other in various scenarios/situations.
