Lost/Found Red-Footed Tortoise
Lost/Found Red-Footed Tortoise The Telegraph

The Almeidas' story starts out a lot like the usual pet-disappearance saga: Someone left the front door open, and Manuela, the family tortoise, went missing. We can probably guess what happened next: a long, fruitless search, tears shed, possible fates guessed at, implausible but comforting legends born and clung to and perhaps retold for decades... But that's not where this tortoise's story ends. According to The Telegraph, this tortoise has been found, after 30 years, in a box in the Almeidas' storeroom. Alive.

This story doesn't make sense.

30 years in a box without food or water?

Wasn't aware tortoise could hibernate so long they no longer need food.

Further the turtle doesn't resemble the size of a normal 30 year old turtle. Though granted in no food is consumed which.. I don't see how that could be possible.. I suppose it would be smaller. But even the rings on the shell which can be used to determine the age seem off.

Story seems false :(.

And here we have the first contender for dumbest thing I've heard all year!
I would like to lock the person who posted this story in a box for 30 years. With a supply of food and water of curse, and stories like this to past the time with.

National Enquirer\PoPSCi, lol.
