As the Aircraft Captain of the 100% biofuel flight depicted on the poster I am thrilled to see it considered a highlight. It was. There is so much more to what this flight represents beyond the wow factor of the flying itself. More soberingly, as the father of a child who lost his left leg to cancer 10 years ago (and who is now a para Olympic snowboarder) I am even more thrilled at the bionic leg. Perhaps the idea of "tripping" may seem trivial to those who are not familiar...but to those who are it is a huge deal having to contend with an ankle that does not automatically adjust to changing terrain. How do I get hardcopies of this poster? Two of the most important aspects of my life are depicted!
Well for 2012, 21st December came and gone. My worry was the Voyager I as it heads out to the solar system it would hit a glass wall and we humans would find out on the 21st, we all live in a fish bowl, lol.
The good news, no fish bowl boundary insight!
A vast ye-Mattie’s, it's the Cosmos Voyager I set sail to the great unknown!
To boldly go where no probe has gone before!
How is this interactive? It's just a picture on Firefox and does nothing but zoom in and out! What a waste of time Popular Science making an interactive that doesn't work with Firefox!!
The English major must have been in charge of this. Hurricane Sandy was just weather, it doesn't belong on this chart. Shame on you for pushing your political agenda as science. Is there a science magazine that hasn't been infested by irrational environmentalists?
I created an account just to post this. The popsci website is getting a bit too buggy, with this zoom.it "interactive graphic", which works very badly on the desktop and does not work at all on the iPhone, and the photo galleries that all of a sudden stop progressing to the next image. Popsci could at least put a link to the original image file for these "interactive graphics" and a link for each numbered photo in the photo galleries.
Popsci, please fix this. Changing news sources is a lot of trouble.
