More than just a scientific mission, Mars rover Curiosity's final, frightening descent stirred up plenty of emotions, from both the engineers who piloted it and from spectators around the world. We all held our breath as the rover went through the "seven minutes of terror" that was the landing--and then celebrated when news came of a successful finale. It was beautiful, and we've collected some of the best reactions to its descent, as well as some of the early pictures Curiosity sent back to Earth.

Are you serious? I clicked here because the headline promised pictures from Mars. Anyway these pictures are anything but amazing; they are pedestrian AT BEST. This is pathetic, "Popular" "Science"
Bunch of pics of people sitting around and being happy, where are the MARS pics as the title implies?
I had the same thoughts. I saw the fuzzy pictures in news and thought some good stuff of Mars is here....Oh...nooo...
You got 10 page views from me, but I'll never click through to your site again.
Amazing! These Martians look and behave a lot like us humans here on Earth! I knew it!
Your own descent into page-click hell is approaching its final destination for me. And that's where I leave the journey.
TEN AMAZING PHOTOS, MY A..
A Kiwi and POPSCI walking down a path noticed a sheep with its head stuck in the fence. The Kiwi walks over and has his way with the sheep. later the Kiwi walks up to POPSCI and says "your turn" POPSCI walks up next to the sheep and sticks its own head in the fence.
Too much BS content published, unsubscribed from POPSCI. There is too much interesting content to read on the web to waste time with misleading, uninteresting, pseudo-articles posted by POPSCI... sorry POPSCI it's not me it's you!
PS: should rename POPSCI to POPSHI*
WoW PS, you really amazed me. Amazed me that I fell for THAT old troll. Lemme guess, you've got the "(insert favorite actress' name)nude pix" too, right? Lame
I couldn't find "the pictures" at first. If anybody has a similar problem click on the 'Mars rover Curiosity' button below right of the headline.
On the 'panorama' photo, notice the area above the rover. Not far from the earthlings' contraption there are 2 blue markers on the ground and between them lies what looks like an used condom.
To get to the panorama detail mentioned in my previous post, first - click on the 'Mars rover Curiosity' button
second - click on the photo [on top of the page]
then - click on the highlighted words 'click here to expand it'
and then - in the bottom right hand corner click on the top left arrow to enlarge a portion of the panorama photo.
The Newsletter email clearly says "... and Curiosity's first images from the Red Planet." No more newsletter for this earthling!
By Kiwi you mean a New Zealander? Whenever they come into town for a rugby tournament, the hotels put signs on the lifts " No sheep allowed"
Nice job popsci. Yeah, NASA went through all this trouble and money so that we as a people could enjoy photos of people hi fiving, playing with marbles, and lets not forget the closeup of a jar of peanuts. Laughably horrible. Enough to make me cancel my subscription.
lol i respect them for doing what they did but i dont care about there reaction to this. i prefer seeing the mar pics.

Bong. I agree with the previous posts but choose to believe this was a one time serious faux pas.
