Laser-Induced Condensation

We're further along in using science to manually force the weather's hand than many people suspect. In 2009, for example, the Chinese government used weather manipulation to bring a snowstorm to Beijing, and they aren't the only nation giving it a try. But using so-called "cloud seeding" techniques as high-tech rain dances is controversial; critics say it's both ineffective and bad for the environment. A potentially better solution -- to this, as to most things! -- is to fire up some lasers.
Last year, a paper published in Nature Communications showed it was possible to form water particles using lasers. That's not the same as creating rain; the particles were about 100 times too small to be rain drops. But it's somewhat of a proof of concept, and as a recent paper in the Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics points out, our lasers are only getting better.
The laser technique works by using photodissociation. Photons break down atmospheric compounds, which produces ozone and nitrogen oxides. That causes nitric acid particles to form, and those bind water molecules together, creating rain. A challenge for scientists will be to unravel the details of the process, but there are major benefits compared with a chemical approach, such as sending silver iodide particles into clouds. For one, it's easier to plan experiments with lasers, since they have an on-off switch that can be toggled and tested for effectiveness. A laser-induced approach could also be less likely to cause unintended problems in the surrounding atmosphere.
We'll see if it's a viable approach in the coming years. You can bet if it turns out to work effectively, a lot of governments will be waiting to invest.

sounds too smart for thier own good..even if it is a government in authority... too smart of a project for thier own good. it seems like cause and effect is something these weather manipulators are trying to avoid . they munipulate a natural accuring cicle , the subject being tested is a cloud then only wanting to reap the BENEFITS of this poceedure they can claim that they had a hand in creating rain . come on guys what happens if that cloud produces bad results. are you willing to take that . accept both the good and the bad.
Oh environmentalists would probably just shut it down saying flying birds were burnt to a crisp with the lasers. You know it's true!
While this seems like it holds a lot of potential to create atmospheric precipitation I worry about 2 things immediately. This quote "That causes nitric acid particles to form, and those bind water molecules together, creating rain." Which basically means that all of the rain created through this artificial photodissociation will be at least slightly acidic (acid rain). That could cause more severe side effects on climates, life, and structures. Secondly, all of this moisture we are pulling out of the air has to come from somewhere. If we are milking the atmosphere more than it can resupply itself, we might risk severely depleting the sensitive levels of the atmospheric water reservoir and really be in for trouble!
With the severe drought we're experiencing we'll take whatever we can get. Bring on the lasers!
Want to store water? Do it in a living organism. They're designed and evolved for water retention. In the words of the great Dr. Kynes "Life creates it's own niche".
Clouds are not living organisms? Says you!
So basically we are on track for becoming a "type 1" civilization. Like Dr. Micho Kaku says, a type one civilization can control the weather... among other things. but this is still just a first step. A real type 1 civilization would be able to completely control the weather. Hurricane Katrina's big sister coming to reak havoc? no problem, we'll just terminate it.
We have been controlling the weather for a very long time covertly. Just look up CHEMTRAILS….well they don’t call it Chemtrails anymore, now its “weather modification” Basically all it is, they have a fleet(s) of 767’s flying around North America spraying 10’s of thousands of tons of toxic chemicals in an effort to block out the sun.

Funny thing is they are spending trillions of dollars on this, where does this money come from?
I guess it’s too expensive and now they want a cheaper way to control the weather.
They have the nerve to say overpopulation is the problem when they totally ignore what effect all of their experiments are having on the environment (HAARP).
In the 70’s the Airforce said they want to use weather as a weapon. 50 years later they have poured billions into this initiative with lots of success….but the sheep can’t think for themselves, only what the media tells them..so sad. China has shown more respect for their population….very sad.
