Over five years ago, scientists succeeded in teleporting information. Unfortunately, the advance failed to bring us any closer to the Star Trek future we all dream of. Now, researchers in Japan have used the same principles to prove that energy can be teleported in the same fashion as information. Rather than just hastening the dawn of quantum computing, this development could lead to practical, significant changes in energy distribution.
According to the theory, developed by Masahiro Hotta of Tohoku University, Japan, a series of entangled particles could be stretched across an infinite amount of space. By inducing an energy change in one of the particles, the other entangled particles would change as well. Eventually, to preserve conservation of energy, the original particle would be destroyed, with its energy passing to the final particle in the chain. Thus, the energy has been teleported from one particle to another.
Naturally, Hotta doesn't present any blueprint for replacing power lines with teleporting energy, concentrating instead on the implications for studying quantum mechanics. However, with a concept this profound, the implications beyond theory are nearly endless. So let's hear what you've come up with! Commenters, I want to know: how would you use energy teleportation?
Five amazing, clean technologies that will set us free, in this month's energy-focused issue. Also: how to build a better bomb detector, the robotic toys that are raising your children, a human catapult, the world's smallest arcade, and much more.

well that could theoretically make colonizing worlds other than Earth a heck of a lot easier
to heck with creating our own sun with fusion on earth! lets just tap into that gigantor sun we have in our solar system and teleport that power on over! :)
If NASA could somehow use this theory to transport energy from Earth to an orbital launching dock where the energy was then used as fuel for our spaceships', or even directly to the ships themselves, it would be much easier to get our manned space program past the moon.
It could also be used to refuel or recharge rovers whose solar panels have been damaged (on distant planets).
i have a possible theory of teleportation of physical objects.
process:
demolecularize the object, send it via wi-fi, radio waves or microwaves to another location and remolecularize it.
basic wormhole phyics should help with that. but perhaps if were teleporting energy, than maybe we have come across the first compleley wireless energy transfer. so electric cars may be able to run continuously instead of having to stop and recharge the batteries.
Deep Space Quantum exploration using USEV's (unmanned space exploration vehicles) powered by a power plant at home with it's driver sitting at home as well.
Using the ability to teleport information and power, the uses are endless!
i like the way you think PuffNstuff326
I agree with mastergpfunk, I would send a power station, or a colony of power stations in a close orbit to the sun and teleport all that power back to earth. With a limitless source of energy and teleporting as a means of transport, anything else would be possible.
Though, I think this is to good to be true!!!
Humans can't travel in space. You watch too many movies, guys. However this will definitely help the robots we send into space. Then with a virtual reality implants we will be able to travel the universe without ever leaving earth. For a fee of course.
Brought to you by Apple, Nike, Future Russian Company, and Future Chinese company conglomerate.
I agree boka. we will be traveling space via surrogates sooner than sending our own bodies else where. with the help of power teleportation this will solve a big problem with space.
I think it'd be useful for putting tiny bombs in people's neural passages. Yay!
Um. Couldn't that be used as a weapon? What happens if you "teleport" a bunch of energy into your enemy's base?
I'm guessing.... big boom?
MegaWordMan, it could not be used as a weapon, to transport energy the entangled particles need to already be at the source and the destination, particles need to be entangled before separation to teleport energy.
teleportation of energy would end the need for plugs forever--as well as solve all battery problems for good.
I think perhaps a lot of you are thinking in terms of endless power transport... but missing the point of "Eventually, to preserve conservation of energy, the original particle would be destroyed, with its energy passing to the final particle in the chain.".
In other words, the entangled particles get used up as part of the transfer... It would be more like a fuel pod of entangled particles, not a pipeline. Handy for some situations, but not the magic bullet that sends us to the stars, unless someone comes up with a way to produced entangled particles at little or no energy cost and in truly massive quantities.
This is a fascinating development, however, as history and the present clearly confirm, mankind (currently dominated by commerce, the prison/military/industrial complex, corporations, and the medical/science monster (largely the funded servant of all of the above) is actually not ready to deal even with combustion technologies (which are currently destroying our world and our bodies wholesale). Religions are also to blame, but religions did not and cannot reach into every living body on Earth to damage DNA and poison our children and environments as science, commerce, war, and technology have actually done (and continue to do). While many think new ‘free’ sources of energy would ameliorate these problems, they are naive. In fact, were free energy to suddenly become available ‘terminator’ would be a pleasant pipe dream compared to the outcome. Technologies, commerce, war, and medicine have costs. We are about to become unable to ignore these as we have done with such shocking hubris in the past and present.
1) Near instant commo between very distant points. For instance, the time-lag from here to Mars is about 30 seconds. it gets worse from there.
2) we would be able to re-purpose almost all of the electrical grids world-wide. Simply place one terminus of an entangled pair at a generator and the other at a neighborhood node. The powerlines could be taken down/dug up and no more open-pit mining for a LONG time.
3) a SUPER DUPER ULTRA MEGA secure way to store information. Because an entangled pair is completely unique, you could set up some kind of security protocol that only sends a decryption key to the stored information via one terminus of the EP if the other is in the correct state...so essentially:
the data is stored
to access it, you would point the data to a EP terminus.
Then you would do SOMETHING to the other terminus, unlocking the data.
IT COULD ALSO BE A PARTIAL CONFIRMATION OF MANY OTHER THEORIES
WHEN IT COMES TO ENERGY IN ATOMS; LIKE STORAGE CAPABILITIES.
))))))((((((>>>>:)
If we put a transmiter of energy in mercury we can solve earth's energy needs forever.
How much energy does it take to change the energy of one particle? If want to transport a spaceship or people it will have to be that amount multiplied by billions...
I would like to know though.. How exactly do two particles become entangled?
And on a related note, because you must destroy one particle to energize another, would it be possible to say, create particle A which is entangled with particle B and C. Particle A is the sender and Particle B is the receiver. If you destroy A, then you no longer can give B energy, but would it be possible to entangle A with the new particle C? so that after you destroy A you could then entangle C with D and so on to continue to send energy to particle B?
I don't know the mechanics behind it, but I would certainly like to know.. If the second question is true, then we do essentially have infinite energy if we put a collector in orbit around the Sun. We might just be able to make Tesla happy even if we are using quantum mechanics rather than static electricity, but still...
Sounds like a really fast burning fuse to me, as far ANALogies go anyway... I'm kinda with Gadzooks on this one, its a milestone thats gonna be helpful for many other apps..

How much energy will be required to initiate the entaglement, preserve it, store it and then teleport it? Sounds good but nothing in life is free except advice. Sounds like we can get photons moving way faster than the speed of light by this method. If we can teleport enough negative and positive energy from the nearest star look out warp drive here we come.
I agree with dhurrell that this doesn't sound like it's going to revolutionize day-to-day energy transmission.
But if this can transmit energy long distances out of a gravity well it could be great for getting a burst of energy delivered to something like a deep space probe.
It might also be possible to fabricate these entangled pair fuel cells way out somewhere like pluto, drop them down to Mercury or Venus, and basically get the result of harvesting power from otherwise inert mass in the outer solar system. Even if it took decades for each cell to reach its power station destination, once a string of them was in place you could get a reliable source of energy in an otherwise barren place.
But here on Earth we have such abundant solar energy it would be silly to build such a sophisticated device for power transmission.
I also wonder how much energy it takes to entangle these particles... might devour any thermodynamic benefit.
First off, put in real simple terms so people like me can understand it, quantumly entangling somthing means making it's energy state undefinable without it's partners or partner. so instead of the regular particle looking to the universe like 1 = 1 it now shows up as 2 = 2, or 3 = 3; Where our first particle is still 1. but on it's own it would show as 1 = 3, so it needs it's entangled buddies to make itself 1+1+1 = 3 because 3=3 is equal to 1=1. (Like a borg particle where everyone is the queen.)
Now what is funny about sending energy instantaniously, (or at least 10,000 times the speed of light) is that it would arrive before it left (see relitivity). this means that 1 there ahe history changing military possibilities, and infinite energy possibilities.
The military application goes as follows> put particle 2 where Hitlar was standing. Put particle 1 90 or so lightyears away, and pump in 20 kajillion volts with a modest 5 amps, and watch what happens when the videos all start showing him exploding after the first "Seig heil!".
"But where do we get 20 kajillion volts?" you ask. well that's somewhere in infinity I'm sure. Now for infinite energy you just need 2 pairs of entangled particles, 1 sends 1 volt to 2, 2 sends via old fashioned conductor 1 volt to 1a, which sends the volt to 2a which conducts that charge to 1 the moment 1 was sending it's oiginal charge. and now 1 is sending 2 2 volts. lather rinse repeat in a time loop, and you got infinite energy.
That's all I got...
And then just turn that energy back into mass and prevent the indefinite expansion of the universe... Save the universe.. Even if you wouldn't notice anything for a few trillion years...
But I believe the problem with what you said is causality, which from my understanding prevents this sort of thing from happening and is the same reason that getting a wormhole set won't work..
Though in a debate between two people who were discussing it, it appeared to me that while you could look like you went through time, you technically wouldn't. Sure, you could see yourself from the past, but technically, you can do that with a mirror a long way off.
So, unless the energy is not trying to travel through the inside of the universe, I see no problem with it. I mean, when you are talking about individual particles, you start dealing with weird physics anyways... Since you can't directly violate relativity, you would have to leave the universe so far as I can tell, so if we consider the universe a bubble, rather than going through the bubble normally, we go to the outside and reenter it elsewhere so that you didn't really violate relativity. Sure, for all intents and purposes, you went faster than light, but technically you didn't. So far as I can tell, this is a loophole in causality and is the only way I can come up with that particles can become entangled while abiding by some sort of logic.
I would imagine that while each particle has the typical visible traits such as mass, charge, etc, you have others that you can't see. I'm a programmer, so I see the universe as a giant program. Think Sins. On the surface, it looks one way, but if you start looking for the code that you can't see in-game directly, but you know has to be there you can start to figure it out what it could potentially say. For this reason, I would think that the universe is more or less a giant computer. We are just part of the "simulation" that you see. The real work is being done elsewhere.
Its like in computer code when you reference a subroutine, only in this case, you are referencing a particle.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but that is my view on the universe. And by the way, Saggin, thanks for the response.
From what I understand, the wireless energy transfer would be seemingly useless in deep space travel. If the particles have to be entangled then separated, and one particle is destroyed on one end, then the transfer of energy is not infinitely linked. So the time and money being put into the process would be redundant and the space that the tech took up could be better used for more fuel storage.
To add to my previous comment, this tech does not seem relevant to any system where the energy source needs to be replaced consistently, I.E: electric cars, planes or other such machines. It would only be useful in very few situations.
I think I'd try to use this concept to keep myself alive indefinitely.
If I could digitize the entirety of my physical form, then centralize this data into a particle generator of some kind, I would just keep instantiating copies of my digitized self. When the original particle, as described above, is destroyed, no worries, the "factory" would construct yet another instance of me from the database.
After this initial proof-of-concept, I might extend this idea to making backups of my thought patterns as well, such that maybe if I had digitized a 40-year-old version of myself as the "original" and it came time to create a new instance around age 75 or so (or whenever my body's systems start going seriously downhill), I'd instantiate a copy of my 75-year-old self's neural net and integrate this into the next emerging instance of my 40-year-old body to ensure memory continuity.
If you put energy teleporters near a star, like our sun, and hook it up to spacecraft propulsion - lookout light speed - here we come! Also, if the Avatar technology (instant interplanetary communications), or similar conscious projection is possible...we could explore other planets, with wholly different atmospheres (toxic to humans), and interact with other species without them knowing we were there, or leaving our armchairs. Could that already be happening on Earth as you read this? Is the secret to space travel so instant, we can switch our consciousness to various worlds as fast as we can change TV stations on a cable remote? It looks like it might be so. Once a clone/surrogate (saw the Surrogate movie too) is full body aware, there is no need to go there in person.
One thing for certain, the technology is starting to come out of the closet. We have multi-dimensional space, particles communicating faster than light, and now the first whiffs of humanity tapping into infinite energy sources of great power, all while we explore by projecting our consciousness instantly anywhere in our galaxy, like a God.
I know they say we are not a stage 1 civilization yet...but if we jump to tapping stars for energy, we skip the old stage 1 to stage 2 theories offered by physicists, and go straight for universal colonization, with the awesome ability for one explorer to BE on tens of several planets in full consciousness in only a DAY! Why travel 5 years in a fast ship when you can be there in 5 minutes? Teleporting energy PROVES that man can explore great distances (instant communications and tooling) at a much faster velocity than could even be imagined. An interplanetary spaceship for humans may look more like an isolation chamber than an actual craft.
OK...here's another one:
If these technologies bare fruit, we are talking about humanity going beyond its original biology into a super god-like race that can project itself, live a 1,000 years, move consciousness to any point, and our toys, anywhere in the universe on a whim, as we use high energy spacecraft to get our toys "out there" with these awesome energy sources, then place our consciousness inside. We will no longer be a single planet species, and become stewards of this side of the galaxy. I hope unlimited energy sources, and energy anywhere you want it, will not spoil us. Our present civilization status is like adolescents in high school, and most of the senior class is about to graduate.
You could place entangled particles on somebody and then change the energy state of their paired particle to immense levels, and then potentially expose the person to to several megawatts of electricity thus killing them. Not necessarily an idea, it's just what will happen because that's what humans do with new tech.or perhaps it could be made into a particle sized bomb that could be easily brought into any city in the world. Don't blame me for the idea though. I'm sure several people in the military are already working on it and will be testing it by the end of the decade.
Oh yeah.. As far as weapons go, I see one option that stands above the rest. Most people seem to be concerned with sending energy from your base to theirs. Well, that's all well and good, but there's a problem with that. You will eventually run out of reaction mass. Really all you need is to make the time loop energy generator as mentioned by Saggingpeach inside your bomb.
Now, at first glance, it seems like it would create infinite energy, but it would not in fact. You are not spontaneously creating infinite energy, but rather generating it over a long period of time (from the point of view of that energy), but because it travels back in time to reach the first particle, you seem to. That reason this would work as a weapon and not just blow up the universe. Those standard conducting wires are the failsafe. You would continue until you got infinite energy, but the wires would eventually fail. And when that happens, a boom will quickly follow. So basically, the fatter your wires, the bigger your boom.
I would see it as a way to power devices without any batteries at all. If you were able to teleport energy from say, a wall outlet directly to the device, you wouldn't ever run out of power, you wouldn't have to recharge the device, and you wouldn't need any wires. Also, wireless devices could become way smaller and lighter if they didn't need big clunky batteries.
How much energy does it take to destroy particle A?
I assume the whole benefit of destroying particle A is to instantly transfer the offset of energy to particle B, but even if the cost to destroy particle A is enormous then we still have many more practical uses of such a technique over very long distance transmission (Earth powering a station on the Moon or Mars, ect).
Over 50% of the energy transmitted to a home is wasted in the delivery process. So if the cost to destroy particle A is higher than even that then the we still have a benefit as you don't have to lay transmission lines which cost both time and energy to construct as well as the fact that you have portable energy.
The only other question is this, what is the cost to entangle particles? Surely it takes energy to achieve this as well? My head hurts!
before I get to other world implementations; I see that this could be seen as an 'upgrade' to tesla's provision of electricity. There is in fact a wastage of supplying power to nodes where the power is consumed. A high amount needs to be made then converted by a transformer thusly, every 'node' incurs a financial cost of just having the power available.
Teleporting power directly from the 'factory'could bring the cost down- when that technology cheapens, and would immediately bring down emissions by the 'factory'.
Trains and trams could benefit in this way as well with safer train lines on the ground.
Where space travel is concerned; if you look at light and power for space stations & craft; fuel could be focused on 'punches'/small rocket+retro rocket thrust activity and not on power when extra-galaxy/extra-solar sys. missions become more common place
Sweet, this means when we go to Mars I can still use my cell phone. Now if only we could teleport the chinese food I'd be ordering...
When all is said and done we will realize that our very substance is composed of spiritual energy. It's the spiritual energy that creates matter as we know it - even if we don't know it(that) at this time. :-) www.digitalweightscalesales.com
I just want ftl communications.
Tesla would be proud.
Ok so i read the comments and some people seemed to catch on. After transfering the energy from particle A to B, particle A is destroyed. So this doesnt mean you can just send a space craft out and continuously transfer energy to it from earth. I would still be a limited amount regulated by how many of the particles are on the ship. once all of A is destroyed, B is just a filler.
Oh what an entangling web we're weaving
buckrodgers
Until we more fully understand quantum mechanics; and we we are probably a long way from doing just that, scientists will be like a everyday joe with no mechanical knowlege of how a car works driving one. Give me the keys, some gas and lets go. We understand input and output and can get where we are going provided we have a map. Just let the unexpected happen and we are stuck with a broken, useless piece of machine.
If the car is driven by a mechanic the chances of a surprise is minimal though not impossible. If we understood gravity we could control it too. I think this is hype and think the true usefulness of quantum mechanics is not here yet. What is under the hood is still a black box and no mechanic has seen the engine that powers this machine and thus is just like the normal driver when trying to understand what makes it go.
Every comment I've had the patience to read overlooks two things:
The universe is constantly expanding. This completely negates any time travel and such because you would have to go back to the same point in SPACE. Space does not mean space relative to galaxies or solar systems or planets. Space relative to wherever the big bang occurred.
The law of conservation of energy states that matter is energy in another form, and energy cannot be created nor destroyed. This means that some sort of infinite time loop energy creator is impossible. Theoretically, even if it was possible, since neither energy can be neither created nor destroyed, this means that every single other law of physics is debunked as well, which could very well be the end of the universe.
Quantum linked particles sound like an excellent means to secure and instant communication.
@Orange: that is very similar to what I said earlier.
@Zodaq:
1. This is true. Space is expanding, and not just that but accelerating.
2. This is not quite so true.. Black holes are a prime example. Once beyond the event horizon, traditional laws of physics break down. The speed of light is only relevant as a speed limit when dealing with newtonian physics. Once you start dealing with any of the four fundamental forces, you can [relatively] easily send something faster than light.
Gravity, the weak force, the strong force, and electromagnetism are all instantaneous forces with no true falloff point. You are technically affected by the gravitational pull of a hydrogen atom on the other side of the universe, however negligible the amount.
For this reason, I don't find it hard to believe at all that instantaneous transit would be impossible. Black holes generate energy because of their being a singularity coupled with their immense gravitational fields. As matter falls into a black hole, it accelerates and accelerates. The end result is that the object in question is going tens, hundreds, thousands, millions, billions, etc of times faster than c. However, because space is warped so much, this doesn't make much difference. If you suddenly destroyed the singularity.. Well, you could say hello to one big boom. All that energy would be released spontaneously.
Also, thanks to frame dragging, black holes will end up with particles colliding, but since they can't do anything to cool down, they will eventually decompose into pure energy.
So, black holes do create energy, its just that no one really cares that much since they trap it. The same could happen if you made some sort of super electron or super gluon. Matter can go faster than c, but only via the attraction of another object. Energy can be created, but its in a black hole so no one cares.
We don't know what actually causes the universe to act the way it does. We may think we do, but I would put quite a bit of money down on the basis that quantum mechanics is missing the fundamental point. The universe has laws that don't like to be discovered. Gravity was thought to make a metal ship impossible, but we forgot about buoyancy. We thought flight was possible, but we forgot about the viscosity of air. The universe has many more secrets than what we currently know. Sure, we are closer than ever before to knowing, but for now, we're stuck. You ask a physicist why something can be in two places at once and they will say that it just can. There is a reason, we just don't know it yet.
Even if this doesn't pan out as creating near infinite energy, it doesn't mean its impossible. It can be done, we just haven't figured out how yet.

One thing we know as human beings is that laws are made to be broken. There are absolute physical laws as we know the science that exists today. These absolutes are only relative to the truths and new physical laws that will be discovered tommorow. Just as Einstein said "Everything IS relative". This is the only way we can perceive the physical universe and everything that is physical is in a state of constant flux. Understanding quantum mechanics in earnest and being able to manipulate it at will would cause a great paradigm shift in the human condition. I do love the idea of telesporting energy and maybe someday science can relate that into a reality.
Till that day arrives I will have to get my fix of teleportation by listening to the words that were adressed to a famous Scottish engineer" Beam me up Scottie!"
I haven't read the many comments, so apologies if this is redundant, but quantum teleportation does not allow the teleportation of "information" in any useful sense. A classical channel is required to verify the quantum teleportation. A quantum state of the entangled particles is effectively teleported (maybe literally teleported?), but no information is transmitted--by which I mean we can't "tell" the recipient anything using entangled particles. The use for this idea is mainly in the area of quantum computing, which benefits from the potential superposition of states (as far as I understand it--which I admit, I do not fully).
To "Volt":
The speed of light is still, according to modern physics, the speed limit. Nothing moves faster. Not even inside black holes. Not even on Sundays. Respectfully...
Published Papers in Science and on website 2000.
Its nice that these folks have added their name to
validation of quantum entangled particle communication.
look up Colossal Storage Corporation
Maybe someday they can validate my antimatter propulsion,
hydrogen production, wireless power transmission of energy,
positron/ct/x-ray computerized tomography, particle beam weapon, holographic storage, and Hydra (linear thermonuclear fusion reactor) to mention a few of my past publications.
The only way to prove the ability to do something is to do it. I don't know what the headline means when it sayd that s scientist has "proven" that something is "possible."
I stumbled upon this really cool web novel:
www.kuro5hin.org/prime-intellect/mopiidx.html
It's a bit graphic, but it has some interesting ideas about quantum mechanics and thinking computers
My (admittedly limited) understanding of quantum teleportation suggests that this technology (however useful it might be) can never be used to replace powerlines.
Read the abstract and notice the word LOCAL:
"Protocols of quantum energy teleportation (QET), while retaining causality and local energy conservation..."
//arxiv.org/abs/1002.0200
It would be like reading about Schrodinger's cat and concluding that scientists have hit upon a method of creating legions of undead felines.
CREATE A QUANTUM LENSE FOR EXPLORING THE UNIVERSE:
If the technology can be perfected, I believe it could eventually be used for deep space exploration by simply creating a "quantum lense" at any location we choose which could then "beam back" images of whatever was there to us instantaneously.
We could thus observe planets outside our solar system in real time up close. Much faster way to search for life.
I believe this will eventually be possible and will also allow for eventual "subspace" communications.
P.S., The reason SETI never hears any signals from outer space is that advanced alien civilizations communicate in this quantum manner and don't use anything as archaic as radio or light waves.
THE SPEED OF LIGHT FALLACY:
The only reason light has a speed limit is that it is the speed at which matter, energized to the point it could move that fast, would be destroyed and thus return to its original qauntum state that existed before the creation of the universe.
This is why, for instance, the edges of black holes glow so brightly - the matter being spun into the black hole has been accelerated to the speed of light and it being torn apart.
So, it IS possible to travel faster than the speed of light. You just need to travel outside the physical universe by creating a quantum bubble, place whatever you are transporting inside, and then have that bubble quantum tunnel anywhere you choose instantaneously.
Now that we know that teleportation of energy from point A to point B is possible. Our next step is to create the technology of that sort of teleportation. Once acheived, we should then figure out how to convert any physical state of mass (including ours) into energy and then reconvert that energie back into its original physical state of mass, only then can the star trek teleportation dream be trully realized.
>>"So, it IS possible to travel faster than the speed of light. You just need to travel outside the physical universe by creating a quantum bubble, place whatever you are transporting inside, and then have that bubble quantum tunnel anywhere you choose instantaneously."<<
Er, barring travel outside the universe (?!) using quantum bubbles (?!), the speed of light stands. At least according to my (admittedly incomplete) understanding of modern physics.
>>"and thus return to its original qauntum state that existed before the creation of the universe."<<
Huh? Before the creation of the universe?
>>"The universe is constantly expanding. This completely negates any time travel and such because you would have to go back to the same point in SPACE. Space does not mean space relative to galaxies or solar systems or planets. Space relative to wherever the big bang occurred."<<
If there was a big bang, it happened right here, and at every other location in space. That is because space (or maybe more accurately space-time) was smaller in the early universe. At the very early universe, all of what we now see as space existed very close together, along with all the matter and energy of the universe.
The big bang is not conceived as an explosion radiating out from a point. (Hubble's observations contradict that view.) It is more accurately thought of as all points in space expanding from one another. Consider blowing up a balloon. (I'm sure many of you've heard this analogy.) There is no center to the *surface* of the balloon. The 2-d surface of the balloon is a finite, yet unbounded system (i.e., you can travel forever and never find an edge or border). That is one way to think about our 3-d (or 4-d) universe. As you blow up the "balloon", all the points on the surface of the balloon move away from one another. But there is no "center" on the surface of the balloon from which they are expanding. (Again, please realize this is a 2-d analogy for a 3-d or 4-d universe.)
It will be interesting to see after studying the equations of this quantum phenomenon whether it can be scaled to quantities of practical usage or will approach classical limits, as typically occurs in physics.
Sigh, all this talk of quantum communication and free energy.
.
If only people truly understood how entanglement worked.
well if we can ever teleport people would we really be moving them? or would we be destroying them and creating an exact duplicate who thinks he's that person, we could never prove other wise, because any one who steps out of the teleporter thinks he's the same person, meanwhile the original person is dead;
I think i'll just take the bus
this is awesome!!!!!!
this is awesome!!!!!!
Isn't this called lightning?
mastergpfunk has the beat we only need to place a large thermo electric generator in close to the sun and it will convert the heat directly into electricity. We can teleport the energy to earth or any location in the universe. Problem is no Oil company would ever allow us to have free energy.
It's theoretically possible, but is it truely viable?
This is not viable. In order for it to work, you need to create two entangled particles. You keep particle A at home and send particle B elsewhere. Once energy (and probably a very very small amount) is transferred to particle B, particle A gets destroyed.
Sooo... we would need to keep sending energy recieving particles out to a destination in order to transfer energy, which would take more energy to accomplish than we could transfer.
Hmmm seems to me that a pair of entangled electrons could be used. By changing the field (electric or magnetic I am unsure which) the spin of the first electron could be manipulated... since the changing spin would alter the magnetic component of the second electron's elec/mag field, and this could be used to induce current in nearby conductors, the energy could be transmitted, and no loss of electrons.
The same thing could be used to send binary data streams.
Instant , unjammable communication; excellent for remotely operating construction machinery at distances where lag would be a problem .
Imagine the first humans to step onto Mars being greeted by a ready made martian habitat.
I have been wondering though... if you impart energy to such an entangled pair, would it require the input of twice as much energy into the first electron to raise its energy state by say 1ev? Since that energy would be spread out onto two electrons.... anyone?
I think the best use of this would be for unmanned deep space flight. When a probe or craft gets far enough away that solar power is not sufficient, it can be powered by entangled electrons. Granted, it is expendable fuel, but I think the mass/power-output ratio of this would be significantly better than any other type of battery.
Tesla already invented wireless electricity along time ago.
I would use teleportation to teleport supplies to the military where a supply drop would be dangerous, or to teleport supplies to people stuck somewhere like to people in haiti stuck under rubble.
If you could teleport food and oxygen; I would teleport food into people's bodies and oxygen into people's lungs when they were about to die
@Everyone:
This teleportation of ENERGY was "proven" by a THEORY. The people who did this did the math and supposedly figured it out.
And I forgot something else, which somebody backed me up on:
Light is really the biggest constant of the universe in our dimension. I believe it has been proven that nothing can travel faster than the speed of light, and that the faster something travels relative to the speed of light, the more massive it will become. If something reached the speed of light, it would become infinitely massive.
Anyways, the main biggest point in relation to this article is that this THEORETICAL "teleportation" of energy is THEORETICAL, and that this could easily be something that will never be made possible by anything present in this universe.
Nothing really goes faster than the speed of light in this case, as you have to physically move the particles to the two destinations. So if you want to "teleport" energy from Mercury to Pluto, you have to fly one set of entangled particles to Mercury, and the other to Pluto, destructively energize the set on Mercury, and then you recieve energy on Pluto. If you want to do it again, you need to fly the particle sets out again.
And since you can't fly faster than light (so far as we know), this is only teleportation in the technical sense.
The idea of using this technique to teleport information out of a black hole or something would be interesting though. I suppose the critical question is how much energy can be transmitted through a single particle set.
I thought Nikola Tesla discovered how to transport energy 100 years ago
No doubt about it. Gene Roddenberry was onto something!

yup, tesla already did that. nothing new under the sun here. he illuminated light bulbs over a mile from it's power source wirelessly. only difference is Masahiro Hotta explains it better than tesla did.
No animosity intended but I say we focus more on reinventing wireless energy rather than explaining it.
There is a whole lot of negative energy in my office that I'd like to teleport out.
Star Trek teleportation is bunk.
Tearing something apart just to put it back elsewhere is insane.
Just as pushing matter past C would require infinite E.
It just ain't going to happen.
Connecting "Here" with "There" makes sense.
By changing an item's place in 4 dimentional space, you can go anywhere instantly. Speed becomes irrelevent, as does time.
The conjoined particles mentioned here COULD be used for communication. Think of sending a "tank" of particles to Jupiter. You have a limited supply, so conservation of energy still works. Just the process of obliterating particles becomes information. Like interplanitary morse code!

Ok, I have a question! If they could find a way to transport someone from one place to another then wouldent it be plausible to use this technology to use as a tool for the medical profession to do transplants? Does anyone have anything to add to that? Thanks!
I don't quite get it. How is that different from what we have now?
Would equipment have to be strung from point A to point B? Would the movement of energy be 100% efficient? Would the space between points have an invisible connection in it?
Enquiring minds want to know.
I hated to bring up a weapon, but I'm sure someone has thought of it before. Entangle A and B, then fire A a long distance. When it hits something, send a large burst of energy.
Awesome! Now we can import our electricity from China Too!

Quantum teleportation controlled by Blackhole quantum dot controlling projection in space-reg
Teleportation over distances of a few hundred meters has previously only been accomplished with the photons traveling in fiber channels to help preserve their state. In this particular experiment, researchers maximally entangled two photons using both spatial and polarization modes and sent the one with higher energy through a ten-mile-long free space channel. They found that the distant photon was still able to respond to changes in state of the photon they held onto even at this unprecedented distanceIt works by entangling two objects, like photons or ions. The first teleportation experiments involved beams of light. Once the objects are entangled, they're connected by an invisible wave, like a thread or umbilical cord. That means when something is done
to one object, it immediately happens to the other object, too. Einstein called this "spooky action at a distance Using a blue laser, a semiconductor, and a beta-barium borate crystal, the scientists first entangled two photons of light. Next, they sent one photon, which had slightly more energy, through about 10 miles of free space, from Beijing to a site in nearby Hebei province. When one photon changed its polarization, the other entangled photon changed its polarization as well
Space magnetic field reconnection possible by frequency dispersed opposing magnetic fields of space:
According to Bloch that applying a uniform force to a particle in a periodic potential would not accelerate it beyond certain limits, but instead would result in Bragg reflection when its deBrogle wave length became equivalent to the lattice period. Thus electro magnetic field applied to a potential could not accelerate electrons to a speed faster than corresponding Brillion zone ,and at longer periods the particles would execute oscillatory motion, called Bloch oscillation.
Magnetic reconnection is a physical process in which oppositely directed magnetic fields are annihilated and the energy stored in them is converted to beams of energetic atomic particles. Based on two phenomena at frequency dispersion opposing quantum mechanical magnetic fields, this may be possible. This reconnection process is believed to drive the dynamics of the Earths magnetosphere and is responsible for phenomena such as solar flares and the aurora. These findings really are a breakthrough because magnetic reconnection is very difficult to observe. Before now we have had the 'smoking gun' of small-scale events but far from a full picture. Now for the first time we have proof that reconnection can and does occur on scales that make it as important as theoretically predicted. This becomes the basic foundation of astro genetics . While an electromagnetic field was applied to cause a stronger attraction among themselves causing bosenova explosions also. At this point the thermal energy released will be more for an explosion and the thermal energy released was greater than the normal energy. With increased magnetic field involving a Fesh bach resonance causing a reversible flip from attraction to repulsion in solar magnetic field emissions.
Interesting frequency dispersed acceleration is possible by interference calling for positive and negative momentum resulting in an increased oscillation but at forbidden points there seems to be no transfer of energy .Simply by a change in the frequency in any one of the interference beams creating acceleration in optic lattice. A time may come when the interference energy distribution becomes a shut off at the eighth phase plane.vr=hk/m becomes -Balckholes having poles by its complex frequency frequency modes controlling the galaxies:All Blackhole modes are in the fourth quadrant of the complex ω-plane. If this is so Saturn boundary should produce blackhole quantum dots. This approximate result is quite useful. First of all, we can now readily estimate the mode excitation in situations where our underlying assumptions are relevant along complex frequency planes +/-jw planes of positive and negative resonance. The original inversion contour for the Green’s function lies above the real frequency axis. When analytically continued in the complex plane this contour can be replaced by the sum of 1) the quasinormal modes [the singularities of the Green’s function; the first few are represented by crosses in the figure] 2) an integral along the branch cut (a thick line along the negative imaginary ω axis in the figure), that leads to the power law tail, and 3) high frequency arcsStephen Hawking presented a new argument that black holes do eventually emit information about what they swallow, reversing his previous position on information loss. He proposed that quantum perturbations of the event horizon could allow information to escape from a black hole, where it can influence subsequent Hawking radiation [5]. The theory has not yet been reviewed by the scientific community and if it is accepted it is likely to resolve the black hole information paradox

A triple-star system was traveling through the bustling center of our Milky Way galaxy when it made a life-changing misstep. The trio wandered too close to the galaxy's giant black hole, which captured one of the stars and hurled the other two out of the Milky Way. Adding to the stellar game of musical chairs, the two outbound stars merged to form a super-hot, blue star. so-called hypervelocity star, known as HE 0437-5439, one of the fastest ever detected. It is blazing across space at a speed of 1.6 million miles (2.5 million kilometers) an hour, three times faster than our Sun's orbital velocity in the Milky Way. Hubble observations confirm that the stellar speedster hails from the Milky Way's core, settling some confusion over where it originally called home.
The movements of these unbound stars could reveal the shape of the dark matter distribution surrounding our galaxy. "Studying these stars could provide more clues about the nature of some of the universe's unseen mass, and it could help astronomers better understand how galaxies form. The star is traveling at an absurd velocity, twice as much as the star needs to escape the galaxy's gravitational field," explains Brown, a hypervelocity star hunter who found the first unbound star in 2005. "There is no star that travels that quickly under normal circumstances — something exotic has to happen. Based on the speed and position of HE 0437-5439, the star would have to be 100 million years old to have journeyed from the Milky Way's core. Yet its mass — nine times that of our Sun — and blue color mean that it should have burned out after only 20 million years — far shorter than the transit time it took to get to its current location. The most likely explanation for the star's blue color and extreme speed is that it was part of a triple-star system that was involved in a gravitational billiard-ball game with the galaxy's monster black hole.
the triple-star system contained a pair of closely orbiting stars and a third outer member also gravitationally tied to the group. The black hole pulled the outer star away from the tight binary system. The doomed star's momentum was transferred to the stellar twosome, boosting the duo to escape velocity from the galaxy. As the pair rocketed away, they went on with normal stellar evolution. The more massive companion evolved more quickly, puffing up to become a red giant. It enveloped its partner, and the two stars spiraled together, merging into one superstar — a blue straggler.

The entangled photons are emitted in many directions and with a wide range of polarization phase relationships, each acting like an individual singer in a large choir can be pahse plane squezzed over 360 degres by frequency dispersioned NRI dynamics. You can think of polarization as the ‘wiggle’ direction of the photon – either horizontal, vertical or diagonal.“As soon as you determine the wiggle direction of one photon in an entangled pair, you immediately know the wiggle direction of the other photon, no matter how far apart they are.The trick was to come up with a way of tuning the system. “We found that we could pass the photons through another crystal – one that has a different phase profile – to compensate for the different phase relationships. In the same manner as a corrector lens in a telescope removes chromatic aberration and improves image quality, the researchers’ special birefringent crystal removes distortions in the quality of the entanglement. “After the compensator crystal, the photons are all entangled in exactly the same way.We can open the iris and get more than 1 million useful pairs per second.”the properties of entangled photons are inextricably linked to each other, even if the photons are located on opposite sides of the galaxy.
Ultrabright, ultrapure sources of entangled photons are essential for pursuing quantum computing and quantum networks, as a resource for teleportation in quantum communication, and for sending more information faster by means of quantum cryptography. All kindly go to the physicsforums.com and just read the answers written by Hotta himself in the thread named "As per Japanese physicist (Masahiro Hotta), energy teleporation is possible" in the quantum physics section. He has recently joined this forum and answered some questions. As per him, QET is just a quantum level phenomenon the amount of energy teleported beyond that is so small it's even unable to displace the classical communication. Usable energy teleportation is a far far ....... cry.
Next, as the classical channel between Alice and Bob is an integral part of QET, "faster than light" communication isn't possible by this method.
It's not my opinion, all told by Hotta himself in the thread given above.

The Sixth Sense - New GROUNDBREAKING Book in 2012! The Sixth Sense leads to Enlightenment
DNA Healing Code - Hardwired in ALL Humans
As an example of what I mean by “Groundbreaking” info that can be found in the 2012 release of my new book on The Sixth Sense (not yet titled )…..
There is a sequence required to communicate with Infinite Intelligence – to gain insight and/or much more complicated yet achievable, HolisticDNA Energy Healing. The sequence required is on multiple simultaneous levels, not just “step by step” like an instruction manual for assembling a piece of furniture.
The “Key” sequence has to do with applying known facts, beliefs, emotions and faith (not religious) – if not applied exactly as detailed, the Sixth Sense will remain dormant, and not be “activated”. As an example:

you won’t find this in any existing text, which is why The Sixth Sense is so rarely utilized and hard to confirm. This will allow the Scientific Community to experiment and confirm my claims — remember, just a few decades ago, it was impossible to have a Man walk on the moon.
