Excuse the interruption of CES coverage, but we've at long last closed the GOOGL proposition. As traders can see from the chart above, Yahoo.com's
Alexa daily-reach metric surpassed Google.com's on December 31, 2007; meaning the stock closes at $0. It was close, to be sure, but Yahoo's a clear winner on this one. Nevertheless, faith in Google seemed to hit an all-time high with this stock. An optimistic 96 percent of you favored Google. Be on the look out for a new stock. And, as always, Happy Trading!
While i haven't used google to it's fullest i have to say Yahoo! is probably more popular because it has an email system and a way for people to sign up, making it the homepage of those people who use the mail system.
Yahoo does have an e-mail system, but so does Google. It's called gmail, and with a gmail account you can create your own homepage using iGoogle, which is what I use. I guess it just isn't as popular as Yahoo Mail, if infact these are the deciding factors on why Yahoo surpasses Google.
I still support Google, no matter how many idiots like Yahoo. Google is far better. Alexa runs only on Internet Explorer, and I use Firefox, so isn't that a bit unfair? Not just a bit. A lot. Lots of people use Firefox. Now they just had to close the GOOGL. <sigh>
I'm so surprised so many people were shocked by this. I favored yahoo and always have, but it wasn't hard to see who the winner would be based on the wording. Yahoo only had to be up on the one day. While it was tied and I think even passed once by goggle, the wording made all the difference and made for good profit :D
google should have won, thier search is much better and the services they offer are more intuitive. yahoo just plain sucks. it turns up things not even related to the keywords!!! google has much better coding in thier search algorithyms and logorythyms, so turns up more relevant things. and google even offers more services than yahoo.(open source community, groups, mail, feeds, homepage, search engine, labs and beta, maps, earth, goog411, mobile apps for your cell,...). come on, it was rigged! the whole site is practically rigged! the stats collector is run by yahoo, this site is american and supports vista; which is microsoft, which owns yahoo, who is in competition with google for so many things on the ppx it is almost obsessive. google wins because open source wins. period, end of statement. no if's and's or buts'! no company that is closed source and for profit will ever succeed. not even microsoft. vista is an abhorration of code. it is the worst thing since windows95!!
I don't think so. They should include Firefox. I use it as much as I can.
Yahoo sorta sucks.
