Canadian astronaut Robert Thirsk, safely ended his 189-day mission aboard the International Space Station on Tuesday, Dec. 1 when he returned via the Soyuz TMA-15 spacecraft to Kazakhstan. Why are Canadians always invisible to US citizens?

I especially like "water Tight", "Volcano light Show",and "Transiting The Sun" These are all great images but those three really drew my attention. "Transiting the sun"really humbles the significance of man and his discoveries.Truly a transcending image. "Volcano Light Show" just captures a unnatural, or even extraterrestrial moment right here on our own planet, in the natural nature. And, "Water Tight" just captivates the imagination with a fancy display of colors and bent light that normally can only be created with the aid of computers, yet, is done scientifically. Just a surprising property of water that we normally don't get to see everyday.
I love the colors, it helps in understanding.
Wait, are those really magnetic monopoles? I thought monopoles were only theoretical...
Hairy ears remineds me of polyps corals. Does the electron scanning microscope produces actual colors like that?

Sometimes we heard about the "first moon walk" by "Neil Armstrong" is fake.. What do you think about it ?

Image 24 (Hearts Built to Order). Does this mean that they might be able to make new organs for transplant some time soon. Quite extraordinary!

Each hair cell is micromachine that is constructed from hundreds of much smaller components. Nevertheless, these complex molecules can exist in a number of stable states, and this cartoon accurately depicts the fact that mechanical stress modulates the state of conduction of ion channels.

This may be a stupid question.Have they colored the hair cells dicital or does the electron micrograph know which color the hairs have. It doesn't make sens electron micrograph can't see color. As fare as i know. live
Live long and prosper friends.
that brain array was pretty gross.. interesting.. but never the less gross

I like to post this comment. It helps a lot.The one thing I do know for sure, if that day comes, is that when it's wedding cake cutting time, I will NOT make the same mistake I witness at every wedding. I will not be serving Champagne with dessert, but rather the slightly sweet and fizzy dessert wine,..
Thanks and Regards

My vote goes to the ferrofluid picture. That is very cool. I watched a couple of YouTube videos about them. One guy made a batch of fluid using copier toner and vegetable oil. Then he dropped a rare earth magnet in the jar and it made a cool ball out of the liquid with the spikes on top like you see in photo # 16.
