It may be a good idea to use something like this simply for someones creditability. Something that could be put below a members avatar, you know, to kind of see who you should really pay attention to or not. I do not think it should be its own game though, this is not what a prediction market is about or the way they are set up. If the PXP developer can set up an automated poll base system and make this work then that would be great. I do not believe there should be any kind of time limit restraints to it, or any kind of timer based on how long you were right for either just because a lot of these issues are going to flip flop back and forth based on different reports, news, articles, etc.... This should be a one time Yes of No choice that is available to a user with no changing your answer later. That way it is what it is, a educated guess made when a prop first comes out. You should be required to submit an answer say within 2 weeks of the prop opening, and after that you just do not get a choice. Like I said, I think this would be great to help show people creditability, but should not be a separate game.

Basicly, aleubinetski, you are saying you don't like stock markets. I've been hearing that a lot from people here.
PopSci should probably be running your game instead of PPX.
Or maybe along side of it.
But PPX doesn't need your changes. It ain't broken.
People who don't like roller-costers shouldn't play stock markets.

I know it is a first, but I have to agree with you here Sir-reptitious, I enjoy PPX just the way it is. I love how it is like playing the stock market but with predictions for the future about issues that for the most part actually matter. I love the fact that there is heated discussions, sometimes to heated (Sorry if I ever made you mad), about real word issues, and in order to be a part of them you need to research and therefore learn about the issue if you do not want to make an a$$ of yourself. The only part I did agree with him on this issue is where I believe it may be good in some sort of poll style format. Might be good to have the up to date results of those polls put with the Props to show which way everyone is really leaning, which will help with allowing people to ride the waves while still voting towards what they really believe will happen on the issue. And I also believe that posting the % of right vs wrong answers under everyones avatar and profile would give people more of a outlook into which people you should listen too more carefully and who to just blow off.

On a side note, Sir-reptitious, I am sorry if I offended you last week, and no, I was never told by anyone that I had to apologize I just felt like it was the right thing to do. I have a short temper, probably cause of the medication I am on. I was almost killed by a drunk driver in a head-on collision August of 2006 and my doctors had me on pain killers for too long duo to nerve damage in my back. They told me I would be stuck on them the rest of my life, so I switched doctors and he switched me to a non-narcotic prescription. The pain is worse, but I am learning to live with it.

This idea seems to lost steam fast, I do not support this in the way it was initially suggested, but would like to hear what others think about it. Please post and let your opinion be known, there is no right or wrong here.

Easy fix, have the system log your original purchase. That would be your "vote" on how you expect the prop to close. After that trade how you will for max profit.

Have the system keep a stat "most correct first purchases". That will let those (like me) see how often we choose wisely. It will also let those who want to make the big bucks (also like me) do so however we so choose. I can not see that affecting anything whatsoever, if that is a word, that we do now. It will just add another aspect to the game.

By the way this isn't a stock market. It does not work much like a stock market at all. It is a prediction market that people are using as a stock market. There is really little in the way of predictions being done here except perhaps before the stock makes it's first move. I am not complaining the game is what it is. But it is advertised as a predictive market game and that is what people expect when they come here to play don't yell at them about it. They will learn to like it or leave.

I like Kubie's suggestion .. and I haven't played very long here .. I am having fun - and learning each time I access the site .. ( My dad had Popular Science issues back to about 1920 ) .. I would like the stat on my "first" reaction to an IPO or any stock .. (and be allowed even without any purchase - just a Vote.) .. I could keep it myself, I guess - but am too lazy .. I would also like to know percent won short .. Most of my early success here has been on betting it won't happen ..

The original post by aleubinetski leads to a 2nd ranking system - for which I could care less .. this game is encouraging me to spend more time here than on TV or a Poker site, or facebook .. Time well spent !!!!
