Not to mention Feb 29 is only 7 days away, and other meet companies would toughen up their safety procedure during the public outcry. They'll continuing doing so at least until the storm blows over.

This is an interesting one, it is quick enough to make a difference and risky enough that there is no sure answer. Being a quick outcomes rewards those of us who play regularly and often, as this one may open and close before some are even aware its existence. Being a risky outcome means that some of us will be winners and some of us will be losers. This might be a good one to consider playing long for a start and then if it climbs to say 90 consider staying long but also buying short, that way one locks in the $40 dollar win but if one plant shoud be outed by COB Friday you win and other $50.

Not only is this an interesting one, it is also (gasp!) poorly worded.

When was the last time that the anyone found something in 7 days.....

This is a tricky stock thatcould go either way, but looking at 7 days and USDA's past record, I doubt anything wil be announced anytime soon....

As mentioned above... people playing regularly may have to be checking the news frequently as there MIGHT find another plant....

Mostly a short (1000) but could the other way...

I shorted the IPO to make a profit, but I think they'll find something. Just because the IPO was added only a few days ago, that doesn't mean that they have onlt been searching for a few days. However, if on February 28 they didn't find anything, I'll short the maximum of 100 shares.

3 more days... can they find something....

LACK OF STAFF>> POOR FUNDING>>>>>> CAN THEY FIND IT>>>>>>>

THE ANSWER SHALL BE POSTED HERE ON THE 28th of FEB

P>S: most probably no

Where's the beef?

I psted this on 02/24/08:
"I shorted the IPO to make a profit, but I think they'll find something. Just because the IPO was added only a few days ago, that doesn't mean that they have onlt been searching for a few days. However, if on February 28 they didn't find anything, I'll short the maximum of 100 shares."

I have changed my reasoning. Since I have not seen or heard of anything about the recall, I don't believe that they will find something. I don't even know if searching for more plants that process or have processed bad beef, which I am nearly positive there are, is a major priority.
What are your thoughts?

rahulr, are you talking about the USDA or the PPX?

BOTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where is the payout!!!

usually what happens in the payout! How much they give?
I am new to this...

This one will pay as a short.

If you shorted the stock, you should get double the amount you paid for it. So if you shorted it at $50, you'll get $100 per share.

If you owned it long, you lose your entire investment.

Speculation among "experienced" players is they'll probably pay out on this today.

Gimme a break, Mark. They don't have any better idea than the non-top-100 players. Only a small, reclusive four-footed mammal who goes "boing" knows for sure, and she (?) doesn't usually talk to us.
