F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Takes On Thunderbirds Colors

The US Navy does not want the Joint Strike Fighter. The US Navy views single engine aircraft as less safe flying over water then twin engine aircraft. The US Navy is buying as many Super Hornet F/A-18 as Congress permits to the US Navy to buy. The US Navy plans to fly as few as possible of the Joint Strike Fighter. The US Navy is planning on putting off requesting any Joint Strike Fighers until Super Hornet F/A-18 start to become unsafe to fly.

Whatever the US Navy plans and Congress decides are two completely different things. They retired the F/A-14 Tomcat. They can and will do the same thing to all variants of the F/A-18 Hornet (including the E model you speak of due to the fighter being old and limited compared to the F-35).

Soon the US Navy, Marine Corp., and Air Force. (which happens to use US Navy stuff), will have no choice but to operate the F-35 Lightning II.

However that won't last for too long as the entire US military will be filled with combat pilots from all spectrums flying robo-drones from a computer screen stateside.

Then the only thing that F-35 will be good for is flying the colors of the USAF Thunderbirds, USN Blue Angels, and starring in the latest Transformer or Iron Man movie.

Statement intended to emphasize the usage of Navy vessels and aircraft by the US Marine Corp.

double post my bad! :/

are those little flags of different countries behind the cockpit? what does it mean? countries planning to buy the F-35?

the flags represent the countries working on the joint strike fighter together.

Nice writing style. Looking forward to reading more from you.

ok i feel like the thunderbird colors are a useless wast of money and time in our Government why pain 200 f-35a's when you could buy 200 forclosed homes and sell them to the public!

because noone wants to buy 200 50 million dollar houses, and second you cant break the sound barrier with a house.

I really like the new look of the F-35 and the F-22 much more modern than most other fighters. I also thing the Thunderbirds paint scheme is awsome, I like it a lot better that the aging F-16. I hope to see these flying at the next air show I attend, The only thing I dislike about the F-35 is that its going to take over the place of the A-10, which happens to be my favorate plane, but I understand the fact that the A-10 is an old fighter not suited for the future combat systems.

F35 Thunder Bird team. It may be fact one day. But its a long way off. As for the A-10 I love that plane. But its not going
to the bone yard any time soon either.

Lots of incorrect information in this thread...

first the nations flags on the side of the fuselage are the countries that the t-birds have/do perform in.

second the A-10 is teetering on the brink of retirement... a large percentage of them are in the boneyard in arizona...right next to my beloved f-14s... hell the b1s are out there playing shuffleboard as well (google earth it if you like there are really cool new pics out).

other info:
paint scheme is incorrect, likely modified to highlight the goofy shape of the f35 (ie not graceful in the slightest)

the 5 is inverted on those images because that is the lead solo's plane and the majority of his exposure to the crowd is in fact, inverted.

runningoec, they dont paint 200 aircraft they paint 8. and screw the homeless work for it like the rest of us had to.

class dismissed
