While Twitter isn’t ditching the 140-character limit on tweets just yet, the company is looking to make tweeting easier. Until now, users have had to game out how links and photos would affect their character limit, often needing to shorten the text to accommodate the media. As Popular Science social media editor Jason Lederman points out, “right now a tweet with both a link and photo has only 93 characters” available.

But in the next two weeks, Twitter will be excluding links and photos from the character count, according to a report from Bloomberg.
